Games and Novelties
These will be done at the end of the day once hacking has been completed.
Age Groups Lead Line, First Ridden, 12 and under, 13 to 16 years, 17 and over
Depending on numbers there will be approximately 4 to 6 lanes and there will be no heats – just placings to 6th at the end of that game.
Walk, Trot & Lead
Walk to the 1st marker – then once the riders body is past the marker trot to the next marker, dismount & lead your pony back (this part may be adapted for safety of the younger riders & Lead liners - parents to lead the pony and hold the childs hand and run back to the finish line.
Lolly in the Chaff Bag
Riders trot up to the chaff bag, dismount put reins over the horses head and then search for a Lolly inside the chaff bag. Once the Lolly has been found, re mount and then race to the finish line. (Lead lines must not canter. Saftey is the most important thing!)
Bending Race
Riders bend in and out of the poles all the way up and around the end pole and bend back
Can Race
Riders head to the first can on the pole and move it to the last pole and then go to the other can and move it to the 2nd last pole and then return to the finish line.
Apple Bob
Ridders race up to the bucket and have to get the apple out of the bucket with their teeth. There will be water in the bucket so it is quite tricky. And be prepared to get wet.
Barrel Race
This will be set up and riders will be notified on the PA of when there is a time person available and they can go over and do the round. Riders are required to ride a clover leaf pattern around the barrels. This requires a timer and if there is anyone who can help it would be greatly appreciated. Ribbons to 6th place in each age group
Key Hole Race
This will be set up throughout the day and riders will be notified on the PA of when there is a time person available and they can go over and do the round. Riders are required to ride between the lines of a keyhole pattern – straight up turn in the circle and back again as fast as they can. This requires a timer and if there is anyone who can help it would be greatly appreciated. Ribbons to 6th place in each age group.
If people could please assist in helping to pack the trailer up it will be a wonderful help to this small committee. If you enjoy your day or have any ideas which could help make it better please email or speak to one of the friendly committee members.
If you would like to join our club please ask one of our friendly committee members who will help you out.
