Sentencing Amendment Regulations 2014

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is tomake consequential amendments to the Sentencing Regulations 2011 as a result of the enactment of theSentencing Amendment (Abolition of Suspended Sentences and Other Matters) Act 2013.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 116 ofthe Sentencing Act 1991.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 19April 2014.

4Principal Regulations

In these Regulations, the Sentencing Regulations 2011[1]are called the Principal Regulations.

5Part payment of fine to reduce unpaid community work

In regulation 18(1) of the Principal Regulations, for "63B(2)" substitute "69U(3)".

6Matters to be contained in a fine conversion order

(1)In the heading to regulation 21 of the Principal Regulations, for "fine conversion order" substitute "fines work order".

(2)In regulation 21(1)(e) of the Principal Regulations, for "61A" substitute "69V".

(3)In regulation 21(2) of the Principal Regulations, for "fine conversion order" substitute "fines work order".

7Regulation 22 revoked

Regulation 22 of the Principal Regulations is revoked.

8Offender's obligations under a fine conversion order or fine default unpaid community work order

(1)In the heading to regulation 23 of the Principal Regulations, for "fine conversion order or fine default unpaid community work order" substitute "fines work order".

(2)In regulation 23(1) of the Principal Regulations, for "fine conversion order or a fine default unpaid community work order", substitute "fines work order".

9Application for variation etc. of fine conversion order or fine default unpaid community work order

(1)In the heading to regulation 24A of the Principal Regulations, for "fine conversion order or fine default unpaid community work order" substitute "fines work order".

(2)In regulation 24A of the Principal Regulations, for "63AE(1)" substitute "68(1) or 69J(1)".
