Sensorium

Biography (April 2018)

Sensorium were originally formed in London in 1996 by Paul Miles, Peter ‘Bob’ White and Simon Rippin. Paul and Simon had recently been working with Fields of The Nephilim front man, Carl McCoy on his new project The Nefilim. The album ‘Zoon’ was co-written by Paul who was a member of The Nefilim from 1992 – 1996.

From the ashes of this explosive line up, Sensorium was born. The debut album ‘Jahazralah’, very much picked up from where ‘Zoon’ left off but due to a limited studio budget, the album failed to live up to its true potential.

Between 1996 and 1998 the band played two UK tours and a European tour. Towards the end of 1998 Paul grew disillusioned with the music scene in general and soon the band went their separate ways.

Paul went on to set up his own successful recording studio and production company. Bob and Simon later went on form NFD.

Now, in 2018, Sensorium are back with a brand new EP with a brand new line up and a brand new vision. Paul approached vocalist Nick Schultz (Faces of Sarah) in early 2017. The two worked together on the FOS album ‘Lament’ back in 2006 which Paul played guitar on and produced. ‘Lament’ gained critical acclaim and is widely considered to be amongst the band’s finest work. A strong musical bond was formed, which finally came to fruition some 12 years later.

The two started demo-ing ideas in 2017 and quickly formed a strong songwriting partnership.

Belle Star was drafted in on drums. Belle has played for the likes of Killing Miranda and Nosferatu.

Bassist Danny Tartaglia previously played in Italian Goth rockers, Burning Gates.

The EP titled ‘MMXVIII’ is a must for all lovers of Goth Rock, past and present. Drawing from a myriad of influences and inspirations the EP takes you on a journey back to the past, while still maintaining a positive glance at the future.
