This information was further developed and on 11.05.14 specific information was received that the master mind of the gang along with his associates are in a house in Village Birohar, Distt Jhajjar Haryana. A raid was conducted at the house and two persons were apprehended. They were identified as Rajender Singh Dagi (48 yrs) s/o BalwanSinghr/oVillage Birohar, PS Sahlawas, Teh. Matenhail, Distt. Jhajjar, Haryana and Abhimanyu @ Kala (aged 19 yrs) s/o Raj Kumar r/o Khatiyon ki Dhani, Vill. Birohar, PS Sahlawas, Teh. Matenhail, Distt. Jhajjar, Haryana. It was revealed that Rajender Singh is MA, B. Ed and is serving as a teacher in SeniorSecondaryGovernmentSchool in Jhajjar, Haryana. Gold jewellery worth Rs. 2 Lac along with house breaking implements of latest technology including gas cutter, drilling machine have been recovered from their possession. Gloves used by them have also been recovered. They have been arrested under the appropriate section of law.

Both the accused persons were subjected to intensive interrogation. It was revealed that Rajender Singh was in heavy debt and in order to repay his debts he decided to commit burglary in a jewellery shop. He roped in Abhimanyu @ Kala and Sonu s/o Umed Singh of Village Naugaon, Distt Jhajjar, Haryana who were from his neighboring village. The gang was inspired to commit burglaries by watching the DHOOM series movies. They planned to commit burglary by using unique modus operandi. They were aware that in order to gain entry in the jewellery shop, they needed adequate time. Hence, they reached for jewellery shops which were located below a hotel. They planned to hire rooms above the jewellery shop and then gain entry into the jewellery shop by drilling a hole from the floor of the room in to the jewellery shop. In order to ensure that they were not identified, they decided to target jewellery shops without electronic surveillance.

Their first target was an attempt at a jewellery shop in the first week of March 2014 in the area of Karol Bagh. Mastermind Rajender alongwith his two associates took a room on rent in a hotel for 3 days which was just above the jewellery shop for three days. They took the room by providing fake identifications. They tried cutting a hole from the floor into the jewellery shop but their efforts went in vain as a beam of the ceiling of the jewellery shop obstructed their entry into the jewellery shop. They then fled from the hotel. Their attempt remained unsuccessful.

The second attempt of the trio was a break-in at a jewellery shop in the area of Pahar Ganj. This incident took place on 24.03.2014. After identifying this jewellery shop they waited till the room above the jewellery shop was available. They then hired a room for about nine days. They took the gas cylinders and other drilling equipment. They told the hotel authorities that the gas cylinders were oxygen cylinder and were needed as one of their associates needed oxygen and they have come to Delhi for medical treatment. They first drilled a hole in the floor of hotel but they found that the room below was empty. Then from the empty room, they drilled another hole into the jewellery shop and then decamped with jewellery. After committing the crime, they checked out of the hotel. In both the incidents, they used gloves to avoid leaving their finger prints at the scene of crime.

They had also visited Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Rohtak and Gurgaon to identify the jewellery shops with hotel room over them for committing burglaries but before they could commit any other incident, they were apprehended.
