SCHOLARSHIPS
Seniors – scholarship season is approaching. Please visit your guidance office to review in-house applications. Check the Hazleton Area Guidance Pages for scholarships listings and updates. If you are interested in participating in a “searching for scholarships” workshop please sign up in your guidance office.
SENIOR DAY
Senior Day Tickets are on sale in the HAHS Library! Tickets are $20 and the final day to purchase a ticket is TODAY, Friday, April 6th!!! Senior Day will be on Friday, April 13th and Capriotti's!
CLASS OF 2019
PSU VISIT
Attention Juniors! Anyone interested in attending Penn State University. An admissions counselor will be visiting the career center on Friday April 20th at 10:00. Please sign up in the guidance office if you would like to meet with her.
KING’S COLLEGE FAIR
Juniors – Guidance has scheduled a college fair tripto King’s college for April 30th. Students must have at least an 85 average, good attendance and no disciplinary issues to attend. As before, space is limited, sing-ups for this trip will be on a first come first serve basis. You will not be permitted to attend unless you have returned a permission slip signed by your parent. Permissions slips are available in your guidance office. Proper school attire must be followed.
PSAT-10
Guidance will be hosting the PSAT-10 this spring. This test is designed to help our 10th grade students practice for the SAT and the PSAT-11 which will make them eligible for the National Merit Scholarship. Please see your guidance counselors for registration information. The cost of the exam is 16 dollars and will be held on April 11th. Tests are limited so please register early.
HAAS ENTRANCE EXAM
Any student in grades 9-11 who want to take the entrance exam for the Hazleton Area Academy of Sciences should see their guidance counselor to sign-up to take the test. Your counselor will determine when testing will occur during the month of April. Testing will be allowed from now until April 30, 2018.
INTERNATIONAL HERITAGE YOUTH CLUB
Attention members: IHYC will have a meeting TODAY, Friday, April 6, right after school, in room 212. The meetingwill last about 15 minutes.
HELP STOP THE SILENCE T-SHIRTS
Suicide awareness t-shirts are currently being sold. The cost of the shirt is $10 and may be purchased in the main office or outside of all lunches. All proceeds benefit Help STOP the SILENCE Suicide Prevention & Support programs in providing local services to our community.
Shirts will be worn to school by staff and students Friday, May 4, 2018. The goal is to unite as a school community showing that it is ok to ask for helpAND to support those who have been left behind. The deadline to purchase is April 10th. Thank you for your commitment to save lives!
LADY COUGAR SOFTBALL FUNDRAISER
Faculty and students, please stop into the high school library to buy a bracelet today to wear in memory of baby Greyson, who passed away yesterday. Bracelets are sold for just $2.00.
SPIRIT CLUB
Attention HAHS! TODAY, Friday April 6th is the last day to purchase Cougar shirts through Spirit Club. All shirt orders must be paid in full before the end of the school day Friday. Unpaid orders will not be placed.
