Jostens: Announcements / Cap & Gown

Graduating seniors are required to wearthe blue cap andgown to Baccalaureate and Commencement Exercises. Cost--Begins at$31.25andgoes up from there, depending on what you order. A $60 deposit is required when you place your order. You may pay the balance on a lay-away plan or upon delivery. Announcements delivered on April 6th & 7th and Cap & Gowns on May 5th.

Where–Cafeteria/East Seminar When - All Lunch Blocks Note: Make-up order days 11/19, 1/21, 2/18, and 3/10.

Thursday, January 28 - Powder Puff Football Game – Mr. John Chapman is the Event Coordinator.

The Powder Puff Football Game is an event that pits the Senior Girls against the Junior Girls in a friendly game of flag football. Senior and Junior Guys will be the cheerleaders anddrill team. Football players from each class will coach the two teams.

Organizational Meeting for Coaches- As soon as football season ends, 7:00 am, room B117.

Organizational Meeting for Players - TBA, E. Seminar Room, B 104

Organizational Meeting for Drill Team/Cheerleaders - TBA, Dance Room, H 134

Required Team Practices- January 19, 20, 26, and 27.

Admission Price-$5 per person at the gate.Event - 7:00 PM at Panther Stadium.

Friday, February 19 -Senior All Night Bowling Party–Mrs. Dianne Williams is the Event Coordinator.

The Bowling Party is a chance for the Senior Class to party together. Activities include bowling, pool, video games, laser tag and all the food you can eat. Participation is optional. Appropriate Dress--Casual, must meet modified school dress code. Admission Price-$45 - $ 55per person (tickets sold Jan. 27 – Feb. 11). Event--12:00midnight until 6:00 am, Alley Cats in Arlington. Seniors must arrive before 1:00 am.

Wednesday, March 30--Senior Panoramic Picture

The Senior Panoramic Picture is taken of the entire Senior Class as you stand on bleachers. Event—in the NE parking lot at 9:15.

Tuesday, May4th – Talent Auditions for Senior Recognition and Baccalaureate. 3:15 in the Choir Room, H132

Saturday, May 14--Senior Prom – Mrs. Dianne Williamsis the Event Coordinator. The Prom is a formal night of dancing and dining.

Formal Attire: You must comply with the prom dress code (published in newsletters, online, and given to you when you purchase your tickets). Flowers are optional.

Admission Price--$55 (April 13th & 14th), $ 65 (April 20th & 21st), or $ 75 (April 27th & 28th). NOON IS THE ABSOLUTE FINAL TIME TO PURCHASE TICKETS! Seniors may bring one guest (no older than 22 years of age and not younger than 9th grade). Tickets may be purchased in the Panther Shopfrom 10:30 until noon. Cashor money order (payable to “DHS”) only. No refunds will be given.NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AFTER 12:00 NOON ON April 28th.

Event--7:00 until 11:00, Waxahachie Civic Center. No admission after 9:00 p.m.

Tuesday, May 24th--Senior Exams—5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th BlocksWednesday, May 25th--Senior Exams—1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th Blocks

Thursday, May 26th—Exam-Make-Up Day for Seniors.

Friday, May 27th – Commencement ticket distribution (the quantity of tickets will be determined at a later date; tickets will be distributed from the ticket booths at the Sandra Meadows Arena and Panther Stadium)

Tuesday, May 31st— Senior Recognition/DecisionNight. Mrs. Kristin Glaeske is the Event Coordinator. Senior Recognition/Decision Night includes the following: Scholarship presentations and Senior Showcase. This event is held for the recognition of all seniors. You must fill out a form with Mrs. Glaeske to participate. Participation is optional. Appropriate Dress: Men- shirt, tie, slacks. Ladies- dress, skirt & blouse, no thin straps or strapless blouses or dresses, dress pants, dress shoes. Nojeans.

Auditionsfor Talent for Senior Recognition Night and Baccalaureate will be held on Wednesday, May4th in H132.

Rehearsal--10:00 am DHS Auditorium. SENIORS MUST BE AT THE ENTIRE REHEARSAL IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE EVENT. Event--7:00 @ DHS Auditorium. Seniors arrive at 6:30.

Wednesday, June 1st—Baccalaureate. Mr. David Womack is the Event Coordinator. Baccalaureate is a multi-denominational religious service planned entirely by your Senior Class Officers. Participation is purely optional. Appropriate Dress--Slacks, Shirt w/tie (men), Dress (women) worn under your blue cap & gown. Rehearsal--10:00 am DHS Auditorium. SENIORS MUST BE AT THE ENTIRE REHEARSAL IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE EVENT. Event--7:30, DHS Auditorium. Seniors meet on DHS Main Street at 6:45.

Wednesday, June 1st--Senior Reception. Mrs. Karen Cothran is the Event Coordinator. This is a time for you to meet with friends and family for punch and cookies. This is a wonderful photo opportunity for cap gown pictures with your friends.

Where:East Cafeteria. When: Immediately after Baccalaureatelasting about an hour.

Thursday, June 2nd—Commencement Rehearsal, 10:00 am, in the Auditorium. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWEDIN THE AUDITORIUM DOORS AFTER 10:00 AM!!!!! SENIORS MUST BE AT THE ENTIRE REHEARSAL IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE GRADUATION CEREMONY. Bring your school id to rehearsal.

Thursday, June 2nd—Commencement. Mr. John Tahaney is the Event Coordinator.Commencement is the graduation ceremony. Participation is optional. Appropriate Dress—Dark Slacks, Shirt w/tie (men), Dress (women) worn under your blue cap & gown, clean shaven, no earrings on men, ladies shoulders must be covered, dark dress shoes are preferred (no sandals or flip flops). Admission Price– None, but admission is by ticket only. Parking is approximately$5 per car.

Event--7:30 p.m., The Potter’s House. Seniors meet in the Auditorium at 4:30 p.m.

Thursday, June 2nd--Project Graduation

Project Graduation is a party honoring the 2016 graduating class hosted by the community. There are casino-type games, Karaoke, food, and other events. Seniors are eligible to win prizes including donated goods, gift cards, and cash.

Appropriate Dress—Casual. Admission Price--$30 per person in advance or $35 at the door. Seniors may bring one guest. Event--10:30 pm until 5:00 am, Duncanville Community Center.
