Our Phoenix Office is seeking a Senior Transportation Planner / Project Manager to help expand our services in the Southwest, with a focus on Arizona and New Mexico.

The individual in this position plans, directs and monitors all aspects of small, medium and large multi-disciplinary transportation planning projects that may include:

· Local, regional and statewide multimodal transportation plans

· Traffic engineering studies

· Highway/roadway safety analyses

· Transportation planning reports

· Corridor studies

· Travel modeling and macro/micro simulations

· Experience/familiarity with transportation demand modeling inputs and outputs

· Transportation research

· Transit studies (rail and bus)

· Environmental documents

· Plan and coordinate stakeholders and public outreach

The individual in this position will be a key member of the HDR Arizona/New Mexico Transportation Business Group and will be responsible for the identification, pursuit, and management of various sized transportation planning and research projects. The position will involve high-profile project pursuits involving extensive client interactions. The ability to establish client relationships in the market is critical. The person in this position directs the work of others in the completion of required studies, documents and reports. Extensive public participation, agency coordination, planning and programming experience is required. The person in this position leads scope development and execution in conjunction with appropriate technical professionals in multiple transportation and environmental disciplines. They are responsible to coordinate project staffing and workload management on transportation planning and research projects. They are responsible for active participation in the American Planning Association and other industry committees and organizations.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, or similar. Advanced degree preferred.

· Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience with transportation planning projects and programs.

· Experience in preparing transportation plans, funding applications, corridor plans, traffic studies and similar plans/reports; preferably for state/local governments.

· Experience with state and federal transportation research projects is a plus.

· Well developed analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills.

· Professional registration such as AICP, PE required or ability to obtain.
