Check the opportunity list on www.parmaschools.org and get daily announcements to get exact deadlines and information on more scholarships. Most scholarships and financial aid come from colleges. To be eligible for these awards, students need to apply for admissions and financial aid by each school’s deadlines. Complete the FAFSA to get the most opportunities possible. Most schools will only award scholarships if a FAFSA has been filed.

Americorps. Opportunity for community service while earning money (approximately $5000 for summer service projects) for further education. Must be 17 or a high school graduate. Visit www.americorps.gov

Voice of Democracy. Audio essay competition. $25 to $25,000. Mid-October.

Prudential Spirit of Community Award. Self-initiated community service project. $5000. Late Oct/Early Nov.

ROTC Scholarships. 3.5 GPA or higher. Leadership experience. $1000 to full-ride with $150 monthly stipend. November.

Horatio Alger Association National Scholarship. 2.0 GPA Financial need, citizenship and community involvement. October deadline.

Caldwell Soroptimists’ Award $500 to $1250. December.

Idaho Power Academic Scholarship. $2,000 scholarships. 3.75 GPA, leadership and school/community involvement. March.

Elks Most Valuable Student. Caldwell and Ontario Order. $1000 to $5000. Late November.

Minority and “At-Risk” State Scholarship. $500 to $2700 for four years. January.

Feb. 15. BSU, UI, BYU-Idaho, C of I, NNU, ISU Financial Aid/Scholarship Deadline.

NASA Idaho Space Grant Scholarship. $1000 per year. Early March.

Lightfoot Scholarship. $750 to $4000 annually. Renewable for four years. This is an online application. April 15

D.L. Evans Bank Scholarships. 40-$250 scholarships. March.

Chi Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma Scholarship. $250 to a female entering education. March.

State of Idaho Scholarships. Deadlines vary, pay careful attention to announcements. Scholarships available to those pursuing two-year, four-year and professional technical degrees. $3,000 a year renewable awards available. Mid-Jan.

Idaho Opportunity Scholarship. 3.0 minimum GPA, for those pursuing associates or bachelor’s in Idaho state college, based on academics and financial need. Due March 1.

MAP Scholarship. Approximately $1,400 for early high school graduates pursuing degree in Idaho state college.

Caldwell Health Occupation Scholarships. Amounts range up to $3,000 for those entering health careers. March.

Soroptimists of Caldwell. $500. Vocational students preferred. March.

Williams Scholarship. $3000 a year. Given to one PHS graduate with a 2.2 GPA who plans to attend a 4-year college or attend a professional-technical program. Based on financial need, service and character. Deadline is March 15.

Leigh/Lake Scholarship. $500 per year through bachelor’s degree. Parma HS students only.

American Business Women’s Assoc. Varying amounts. At least a 2.0 GPA. April.

Silver City Masonic Lodge Scholarship. $250 scholarships. April.

Dept. of Labor Employer Assoc. of Canyon County. $500. April.

Bruce Mitchell Foundation Scholarships. Amounts awards recently have been $2750 for four years. Available only to PHS graduates. Must be pursuing a 4-year degree. Application must be typed. Deadline is mid Feb.

Parma SOS Scholarships. $500. Available only to PHS graduated. Application must be typed. Special money earmarked for students pursuing professional technical degrees. Deadline is mid Feb.

Parma Lion Club Scholarships. Amounts vary. Available only to PHS graduates. Awarded for community service. Application must be typed. Deadline is mid Feb.

P.E.O. Scholarship (Parma Chapter). $400. Graduating senior girl based on academics, school and community involvement and work. May.

West Valley Medical Center Auxilliary Scholarships. Amounts vary. Must be entering health-related career. June.

Idaho Irrigator Equip Assoc. $500 to $1200 awarded to students pursuing Ag related major or who has been active in Ag activities. Feb.

Caldwell Western Heritage Scholarship. 5-$2000 scholarships awarded to students involved in Ag activities. March.

Idaho School Boards Assoc Scholarship. $250 to $500. Available only to children/grandchildren of Idaho public school trustees. Mid-February

Caldwell Board of Realtors Scholarship. $500. Short Essay. April.

Wilder Rod & Gun Club. $500 to $1000. Student pursuing Professional-Technical program. May.
