- The Senior Class is organizing a senior trip to Universal Orlando’s GRAD BASH ’14. The tentative dates are April 24-27, 2014. The cost is $349/person. This includes all expenses except spending money and food (some food is included). A deposit of $75 isdue before November 15. See Mel’Leeah Robinson, Senior Class President, for more information.
- An admissions rep from Barton College will visit on Tuesday, November 5, 9am-10am. If you would like to meet with Barton College, you must see Ms. Powell to sign up.
- Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY offers 17 four-year tuition, room & board Technology Scholarships. For more information go to
- College Application Week will be held November 18- 22. Students can apply to all 58 community colleges, 31 private NC colleges/universities and 5 UNC system schools with no application fee. Students can apply online that week. On Tuesday, November 19 students can sign-up to come to the media center to participate in College Application Week. Ms. Powel will be available to assist you with the process if you need help. Also Thursday, November 21, 6pm-7:30pm, Ms. Powell will be in the Media Center to assist students & parents who want assistance in completing college applications. - Meredith College Teaching Fellows Program; go to the website below or see Ms. Powell for application materials. Deadline to apply is January 15. In addition to participation in the high quality teaching education program at Meredith College, the Teaching Fellows Program provides a four-year seminar series in education, cultural enrichment opportunities, a two-year mentor placement in a public school, and a scholarship. Most of our Fellows also qualify for additional financial assistance based on academic merit or need. More information about the program can be found online at:
- Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation Scholarship for High School Seniors
The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors each year. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, and their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. It is our privilege to award over $3 million annually in scholarships to these young leaders.
