Strategic is an emerging junior oil and gas company committed to growth by exploiting its light oil assets in Canada. Strategic is primarily focused on implementing development plans for its light oil properties, while continuing to review other high impact light oil resource plays.

The Opportunity: With a mix of producing fields and existing prospects, we are looking for a Senior Geologist with an experience level 20 plus years, to work with our development team for a 6-month term. A Bachelor’s degree in Geology and APEGA membership required.

Desired Skills/Experience:

·  20 plus years of progressive light oil & gas industry experience, structural experience is required.

·  Past experience in an unconventional resource development team,

·  Northern Alberta carbonate reservoir experience would be considered a definite asset,

·  Experience with Petrel will be considered an asset,

·  Familiarity with seismic imaging, and interpretation for both 2D and 3D data, in a structurally complex terrain,

·  Excellent communication skills and appreciative of the importance of a team approach,

·  Proficient verbal and written communication in English,

·  Skills required: time management, organization, leadership, and communications,

·  Excellent work ethic and ability to excel in a flexible, fast paced environment,

·  Collaborative working style,

·  Experience within a junior oil & gas company,

·  Innovative with a proven ability to meet or exceed company goals.

Key Responsibilities:

·  Contribute to a multi-disciplinary team while fulfilling the role of a senior geologist,

·  Characterize, assess, and quantify hydrocarbon volumetrics,

·  Define gas/oil/water contacts, compile mapping details, and validate petrophysical analyses,

·  Advise on reservoir performance and development strategies,

·  Provide strategic guidance and participate in the development and execution of a long-term growth strategy for company assets,

·  Support ongoing development on well planning and drilling operations for our assets,

·  Participate in pre-drill and post-drill evaluations with development team members,

·  Prepare and participate in regular reviews and presentations of asset status to the Senior Executive,

·  Validate, further characterize, and advise on the company’s longer-term prospect inventory,

·  Mentor and coach Junior Staff,

·  Be a positive technical leader and ensure quality work.
