MOCK D.U.I. SCENARIO

Director’s Script

INTRODUCTION: Center Stage

(AUDIO): Music (popular mix) plays during student entrance and seating.

High School Principal introduces narrator.

Narrator introduces program, see Attachment “A” (Speaker Script).

SCENE A: Living Room Set

“Dead Girl #1” talking with “Mom and Dad” about her date.

“DUI Boy #1” drives up to set, knocks on door, and interacts with parents in living room.

“Dead Girl #1” and “DUI Boy #1” leave in car and exit stadium.

DUI Boy is heard saying, “Let’s get this party started…!”

SCENE B: Center Field Crash Set

(AUDIO): Crash sounds and explosion!(VISUAL): Activate smoke machine.

Remove tarp to reveal crashed, smoking cars. Victims scream and moan, “DUI Boy #2” can’t arouse “Dead Girl #2”.

“911 Caller” and “Friend” drive up in car and find their friends in wrecked cars.

“911 Caller” makes 911 call, while “Friend” checks on victims.

(AUDIO): Tape of pre-recorded 911 call plays.

Cue “Law Enforcement” to respond from staging area. Safely respond with lights and siren.

Seminole Communications dispatches “Fire/EMS” units. Safely respond with lights and siren.

(AUDIO): “Fire/EMS” and “Law Enforcement” radio plays during dispatch and response.

“Law Enforcement” arrives, surveys scene, and communicates with Dispatch. Collect beer/wine/drugs evidence, and begin investigation with “911 Caller” and “Friend”.

“Fire/EMS”arrives and begins treatment and extrication. Pronounce “Dead Girl #2” dead over radio, and cover with yellow blanket. See attached map for detailed information.

“DUI Officer” removes “DUI Boy #2” from car and begins Sobriety Test.

Scene interchanges between “Fire/EMS” activities and DUI arrest.

Helicopter lands and transports “Patient #1” to predetermined landing zone.

“Patient #2” is transported by “Fire/EMS” and exits stadium.

“Dead Girl #2” is extricated and placed on track (under yellow blanket) in front of audience. One “Law Enforcement” personnel stands guard (parade rest) at body.

(AUDIO): Dead Girl’s poem, followed by “Tears in Heaven”.

“Funeral Home” arrives and places “Dead Girl #2” in body bag, and exits stadium.

SCENE C: Living Room Set

(AUDIO): “Tears in Heaven” continues.

“Death Notification Officer” car passes “Funeral Home” on track (at 50 yard line), and drives to front door of living room.

“Death NotificationOfficer”knocks on door, notifies “Mom and Dad” of death, and necessity to identify body at Morgue.

“Mom and Dad” enter police car, and exits stadium.

SCENE D: Center Stage

Narrator introduces testimonials from DUI victims, introduces participants, and concludes program.

Principal adjourns students.

SCENE E: Stadium and Classroom

“Funeral Home” presents casket display as students exit stadium.

“Dead Girl #1” is excused (“ghosted”) from school, with a display (rose, collage, et cetera) in each of her classes.
