Security Agreement

It is the desire of the Selkirk Recreational Association (SRA) to provide property owners and their guests with a safe, relaxing and fun filled environment in which to pursue boating activities. To ensure safety, the rules and regulations below must be followed. In keeping with good practice and centuries of tradition, consideration for the safety of persons and property are paramount and should always be the first priority.

Security keys are only issuedto property owners (upon request) that are CURRENT on yearly HOA Maintenance Fees and have signed and agreed to Security Agreement.Changes to Acknowledgement sheet are the responsibility of the owner and must be reported to SRA. Anyentry, loss of goods, damages, or unauthorized useof facilities is the sole responsibility of the party to whom the key was issued. Unauthorized use of a key or failure to report stolen or missing keys shall be considered a breach of the Security Agreement. There is a substantial fee for lost key replacement.

Launching a vessel at the SRA boat ramp is solely at the risk and expense of the vessel’s owner. The Selkirk Island Property Owners’ Associations (Selkirk Community Association,Selkirk Maintenance Sect.1, 2 and Add. A, Inc., and Pabst River Estates II) assume no liabilityfor damage, loss to vessels, equipment, owner, guest(s) or their property from loss from any cause whatsoever, including, but not limited to natural disaster, fire, theft, negligence or vandalism.

Property owners understand and agree by signing attached agreement that he/she is subject to all of these rules, and that any violation constitutes a breach of the Security Agreement.

RULES for SAFETY AND COURTESY:

1. Gate must remain LOCKED AT ALL TIMES. If “You” don’t have a key to get in---“You” won’t have a key to get out! Call a Locksmith.

2. Only pleasure craft in compliance with USCG safety requirements and in sound, seaworthy conditions are allowed access and the use of the Selkirk Recreation boat ramp.

3. Activities such as swimming, fishing or operation of any vehicles such as skateboards, bicycles, etc. are prohibited on the docks and piers. The SRA property is not a recreation riding area for motorized vehicles such as go carts, motorcycles, etc. This is a Boat launching area ONLY.

4. All children (14 years & under) MUST wear an approved PDF (life jacket) at all times on the docks and piers or any other area around the water. All children (14 years & under) MUST also have direct adult supervision at all times in Recreation area.

5. Possession of firearms in the Selkirk Recreation Area is prohibited.

6. Fires (Charcoal, propane, etc.) are prohibited. Camping is prohibited. Generators are prohibited.

7. The parking lot is an often overlooked hazard. Extreme caution should be exercised here

8. Any business, service, solicitation, or advertising is prohibited on SRA premises.

9. Docks and finger piers must be kept clear at all times.

10. Modifications, alterations or attachments to dock and piers are prohibited.

11. Vessel fueling or fuel transfer is prohibited in the boat slip.

12. Vehicle and boat trailer parking in SRA in excess of three days is prohibited.

13. Boats should never be moored in or behind the ramp or stored on docks and piers. Any damage to a vessel is the sole responsibility of the vessel’s owner.

14. Any damage by property owner or property owner’s guest(s) to piers, docks, or to any property or facility shall be the responsibility of the property owner and shall be reimbursed to the SRA upon 30 days written notice.

15. A vessel sinking in or around the boat ramp area is the vessel owner’s responsibility. Such vessel should be marked immediately, after notification to the SRA of the sinking vessel. Vessel should be removed within 24 hours after sinking. With vessel owner’s failure to do so, the SRA may at owner’s expense, remove or contract to have removed, said vessel. If vessel belongs to a guest, the HOA owner that invited this said guest, will be held responsible.

16. Any discharge of sewage, trash, debris, fuel, oil or other contaminates in or on the Selkirk Recreation Area is prohibited. This should be reported to SRA immediately.

17. Intoxication and possession or use of drugs or any activities related to alcohol or drugs within the SRA poses a threat to the safety of all users of the facility and enjoyment of boating facilities. The SRA regards such activities as a breach of the Security Agreement and will vigorously support and assist appropriate authorities in prohibiting such conduct.
