How to review andshortlist candidates

Here’s how to shortlist and review candidates for jobs you have advertised on the jobactive website. Step 1: Sign In to the jobactive website

Sign In to jobactive.gov.au using your User ID and password.

Step 2: Choose which candidates you’d like to review

Once you have created a job listing using Create a Job, you can track candidates who have applied for the job in My Candidates. Select My Jobs from the top navigation and then click the My Candidates link in the Candidates section of the relevant job to view candidates.

Select the Status and Job and click Display Candidates.

To view candidates from your My Jobs that have a status of ‘Closed’ or ‘Inactive’, or search for a specific job click the search icon and perform your search.


Step 3: Review and shortlist candidates

As job seekers apply for your job, click the New Candidates link to review them. You can review their résumé and cover letter, check out their Career Profile, add them to a Shortlist to interview or mark them as Unsuccessful.

As you create a Shortlist of potential candidates, you can manage them from a single page; get in touch with them through the jobactive website review their Career Profile, Résumé and Cover Letter, give them a star-rating.


Step 4a: Adding candidates from other places

Not all your candidates will come from the jobactive website. You might have referrals from other staff, recommendations from friends and family or you might find them on another website.

Now you can manage all your candidates from one place by clicking Add Candidate within each of your jobs.

Enter the candidates details and click Save. The candidate will be added to your list of candidates for that job.

Step 5: How do I create a shortlist of candidates without advertising a job?

To make a shortlist of Candidates without advertising a job, click Find Candidates in the top navigation menu. Select a Location, Industry, and Specific Occupation and enter any required Skills and click Search.

You will get a list of potential candidates. Click the Create a Job (Not Advertised) button to create a list for the non-advertised job. Preview the job seekers by clicking on their name. To add them to your shortlist, click
