HOOFCOMPETITION
Class 1 Pen of 3 Woolworths Trade Steers, 240 – 290 kg liveweight, Steer, Milk teeth.
Class 2 Pen of 3 Woolworths Trade Steers, 291 – 340 kg liveweight, Steer, Milk teeth.
Class 3Pen of 2Owner Fed Trade Steers, 340 – 420 kg liveweight, Steer, Milk teeth.
HOOK COMPETITION
The hook competition will be judged on three main areas;
- Market Specificationswill be judged on weight, sex, dentition, P8 fat, fat colour & texture.
- Saleable Meat Yield will be determined by the muscle score, rib eye area & rib fat depth.
- Eating Quality will be determined by the pH, meat colour, weight for maturity, Bos Indicus %, marbling & fat distribution.
The hook judge will be competent in hot carcase measurements and chiller assessment.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
- Woolworths Cattle (Class 1 & 2) will be purchased on a c / kg liveweight basis upon delivery to Alexander Downs, weighed full less 5% on Friday 17 June, 2016. Delivery between 9 am – 12 pm.
- Owner Fed Cattle (Class 3) will be purchased on a c / kg liveweight basis upon delivery to Alexander Downs, weighed full less 5% on Friday 18September, 2016. Delivery between 9 am – 12 pm.
- Woolworths Cattle (Class 1 & 2) Prices to be determined the week prior to entry Friday 10th June, 2016.
- Owner Fed Cattle (Class 3) Prices to be determined the week prior to entry Friday 11th September, 2016.
- A national vendor declaration must accompany the cattle to Alexander Downs. Consign to Alexander Downs, MERRIWA, NSW, 2329.
- Settlement 10 days from entry(Class 1 & 2) and 10 days from delivery (Class 3) by Alexander Downs.
- All cattle to be vendor bred, breeder to be recognized.
- All entries must be recognised beef breeds or their crosses, de-horned effectively.
- The committee reserves the right to ballot entries in any class and alter class entries where necessary.
- The Judge’s decision shall be final.
- Champion and Reserve Champion beasts will be drawn from singleor multiple pens.
- Hormonal Growth Promotants – No cattle entered are permitted to be treated with any HGPs.
- The Sub-Committee reserves the right to reject any beast, if that beast is deemed to be below fair average quality.
ENTRY FEE: $10.00 per head to be deducted from livestock proceeds.
