  1. QUALIFICATIONS
  2. The ruggedized modular imaging and sensing system, including housing, shall be manufactured in the United States, per ISO 9001 certified procedures.
  3. The manufacturer of theruggedized modular imaging and sensing systemshall have a minimum of five years experience of successful manufacture and installation of systems equivalent in function to the system proposed herein
  4. Product shall be Made in America and meet the requirements of the Buy American Act; Section 1605 of the American Recovery Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
  5. DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
  6. Delivery, storage, and handling of the ruggedized modular imaging and sensing system shall be in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations
  7. The manufacturer’s ordering instructions and lead-time requirements shall be followed to avoid delivery and installation delays.
  8. WARRANTY
  9. Manufacturer shall provide a limited warranty for the ruggedized modular imaging and sensing system to be free from defects in material or workmanship for a minimum period of one year.
  10. All warranty repairs of equipment shall be performed by manufacturer at factory location and shall not be performed at repair facilities outside of the continental United States, norat any third party repair companies.

  1. DESCRIPTION
  2. The ruggedized modular imaging and sensing system (“modular imaging system”) shall be a platform to support interchangeable modules to include thermal imagers, visible light cameras, and infra-red (IR) illuminators.
  3. The platform shall be capable of 360° pan and adjustable tilt operationwith maximum limit of +/- 90ºfrom center.
  4. The modular imaging system shall be ruggedized and capable of meeting Mil-STD environmental standards for sealed and pressurized housings and salt or fog and shall be insensitive to vibration.
  5. Imaging and illumination modules shall be easily interchangeable via a single screw latch and bayonet style connector.

The Moog GeminEye product is designed for modularity. The modules listed in this specificationare those most commonly employed, but the system can be customized as required.

2.3THERMAL IMAGER MODULE

  1. The thermal imager module shall be an amorphous silicon uncooled microbolometer operating in the infra-red wavelength range of 7 - 14 µm.
  2. The imager shall have a thermal sensitivity of <65 mK.
  3. The imager’s Focal Plane Array (FPA) shall be either 320 x 240 or 640 x 480 pixels.

2.5INFRA-RED (IR) ILLUMINATOR MODULE

  1. The IR illuminator shall supplement enhance the performance of the visible video camera during nighttime or low light situations at a distance of up to 220 m (720 ft.).
  2. The IR illuminator shall consist of an array of 18 high efficiency surface mounted LED’s operating at a wavelength of 850 nm.
  3. The IR energy will emanate from the illuminator in a 10º beam pattern.

  5. The IR illuminator shall be capable of being powered by 10 to 30Vdc, sourced from the mounting platform.
  6. Power consumption of the IR illuminator shall be less than 45 watts.

2.6PAN-TILT PLATFORM

  1. The platform shall accommodate one or two sensing or illumination modules and enclose the pan and tilt motors, belt drive assemblies, azimuth slip ring, tilt hard limit stops, power supply board, and a microprocessor control board.
  2. The platform shall be capable of being mounted in an inverted position.
  3. The platform shall allow modular camera(s) to be positioned to any degree of azimuth within a continuous 360° circle. The camera tilt shall be adjustable to any angle from horizontal to approximately ±90°. The platform shall employ hard (non adjustable) mechanical limit stops, factory set to approximately ±95 degrees in elevation, and software settable limits, factory set to ± 90°, but adjustable via remote to any lesser angle, with independent settings for up and down.

PART 3EXECUTION

3.1INSTALLERS

  1. Installation should be performed by qualified service personnel only in accordance with the National Electrical Code or applicable local codes.
  2. The Contractor’s installers and technicians shall be factory authorized to install, service and maintain the system.
  1. INSTALLATION
  2. The system shall ship from the factory fully assembled, tested and ready for installation and use.
  3. Before permanent installation of the system, the system and interconnected components and cables shall be staged on-site to verify that all are in good working order.
  4. Care shall be exercised to select suitable hardware to install the unit, taking into account both the composition of the mounting surface and the weight of the unit.
  5. SUPPORT
  6. The camera shall be supported by U.S. technical assistance program from the manufacturer and local technical assistance program from a certified and trained professional services company in the country in which the system is installed.
