Section 1:BOD OF PEDO develop vision & Mission for Hy-Tech (A project for PEDO)

The BOD meet for two days rigorous exercise to chalk out a vision and Mission for the prestigious project of PEDO Known as HY-TEC derived from the name of the patron in chief Yar Mast Khan Afridi Technical Education centre. The BOD envisioned Hy-Tec institute of technology’s “Empowering through Quality technical education” and to translate the vision into mission HY-TEC committed to serve the needs of the society at large by imparting state-of-the-art technical education to youth (literate & semi-literate) and to provide knowledge, attitudes, skills & values, leading to acquire self-employment and decent jobs.”

Section 2Ink MOU between IRC and Hy-tech &PEDO for short duration courses for Afghan youth

IRC-International Rescue Committee a well known INGO working in Pakistan more than a decade with afghan refugees as well as flood and earthquake hit communities & IDPs in Pakistan. The IRC intend to equip afghan youth in short term technical courses to start self employment and get decent jobs in their homeland. To achieve these objective IRC conduct survey of technical institutions. IRC select PEDO & its Hy-tec institute of technology to impart training for their selected trainee in nursing, generator repairing, mobile repairing and shoe making. The MOU inked between IRC & PEDO on 1st July, 2011. This joint venture will open new avenue for the development of the organization on international spectrum.

Section 3:Young women take admission in Women Skill centre in Pass Kalay Meena Khail, Khyber Agency (FATA)

PEDO management successfully implemented a project Hy-tec women Skill Centre in Pass Kalay Meena Khail, Khyber Agency with the consultation of local community and wining the support of local elders. The centre opens admission of young girls since April, 2011. The girls are interested to learn the sewing, embroidery skills. The number of girls reached to 35 and still there is increasing demand from community for further enrollment. Miss Hammeda Begum a seasoned senior instructor supervised the two local instructors. The project is implemented with the collaboration of FATA-DA.
This is a pioneer project of PEDO in Khyber agency. This intervention encourages the management to design other intervention in the area for the empowerment of the communities.

Section 4:Hy-tec announceD admission for youth in short term courses

The Director Hy-tec pleased to announce admission for young candidates in the following courses.
  1. Wireman course duration 3 months
  2. Electrician course duration 6 months
  3. Generator repairing course duration 4 months (crash course)
  4. Shoe making (Charsadda Chapal) duration 4 months (Crash Course)
  5. Mobile repairing Course duration 4 months
  6. Nursing assistance course duration 4 months
  7. Office automation & secretarial job course duration 4 months (for girls/women)
  8. Project proposal writing duration one month (for Men & women)
  9. Social organizer course duration Three months (for men & women)
  10. Knitting, embroidery and sewing course for women duration 6 months

Section 6:PEDO meet with aditional Chief Secretary FATA for Joint Venture

PEDO BOD member meet with ACS-FATA Mr. Fazal Karim Khattak in his office. The ACS takes interest in PEDO interventions and assures their support and agrees to submit a detail comprehensive concept paper for the development intervention in FATA.

Section 7:PEDO submit proposal to different donor for beef up the HY-tec programme

The management of PEDO submits a number of proposals to various donors for strengthening Hy-TEC programme.
130 youth engage for short courses for self-employment & decent jobs submitted to ADP (association for Development of Pakistan)
Established 5 Skill Centre for women in Khyber Agency submitted to UN-Women
