How much can I apply for?
Our minimum project size is £1000 and, under our Main Grants programme,our maximum grant is £150,000 (a maximum of £50,000 per annum over 3 years).
What is the Aim of the Fund?
To enhance the quality of life for local communities and visitors to the Borders through investment in the protection, enhancement and appreciation of the natural, built and cultural heritage of the Scottish Borders environment.
What are our deadlines for completed applications?
1st September and 1st March.
Who can apply?
  • community, voluntary, charitable groups or other relevant organisations. Applications from individuals will only be accepted under exceptional circumstances.
  • projects which operate within the Scottish Borders local authority area or the parish of Gifford
  • projects which contribute to the Aim of the Fund. It should be noted that applications that might be in conflict with the business interests of the two main funders may not receive support.

The aim of the Fallago Environment Fund is “to enhance the quality of life for local communities and visitors to the Borders through investment in the protection, enhancement and appreciation of the natural, built and cultural heritage of the Scottish Borders environment”. You should outline here how your project aligns with the Fund’s aims. Our focus will be on community projects that involve local heritage. This can be in the widest sense - from tangible assets such as historic buildings and wildlife habitats to more intangible areas such as education and training.

Volunteers working on the project will be valued in accordance with the Heritage Lottery Fund agreed rates of unskilled £50/day, skilled £150/day and professional £350/day.
