1.4SUBMITTALS

  1. Submit under provisions of Section 01300.
  1. Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including:
  2. Preparation instructions and recommendations.
  3. Storage and handling requirements and recommendations.
  4. Manufacturer's printed installation instructions for each product.

1.5QUALITYASSURANCE

  1. Manufacturer Qualifications: Firm specializing in manufacture of cementitious waterproofing, with minimum 10 years experience.
  1. Installer Qualifications: Firm specializing in installation of cementitious waterproofing, with minimum 5 years documented experience with projects of similar scope, design, and materials.
  1. Mock-Up:Provide a mock-up of each type of installation for approval of quality of workmanship.
  1. Pre-Installation Meeting: At least three weeks prior to commencing waterproofing work conduct a meeting at the project site to discuss contract requirements and job conditions; require the attendance of installers, representative of installation materials manufacturer, and installers of related materials; notify Architect in advance of meeting.

1.6DELIVERY,STORAGE, ANDHANDLING

  1. Deliver and store packaged materials in original containers with seals unbroken and labels intact until time of use. Prevent damage or contamination to materials by water, freezing, foreign matter or other causes.
  1. Store materials subject to damage by freezing or overheating.
  1. Deliver and store materials on site at least 24 hours before work begins.

1.7PROJECTCONDITIONS

  1. Maintain environmental conditions and protect work during and after installation to comply with referenced standards and manufacturer's printed recommendations.
  1. Proceed with waterproofing after surface defects have been repaired and projections through substrate have been completed.

2.2CEMENTITIOUSWATERPROOFING

  1. Cementitious Waterproofing: Sure Coat by ProSpec, single component polymer modified Portland cement based coating with fine sand finish. Mix with clean potable water or for improved performance substitute up to 2 quarts of water with Acrylic Additive.
  2. Wind Driven Rain Resistance: (ASTM D6904-03) Pass.
  3. Accelerated Weathering: (ASTM G 152 & 153) Passed 5,000 hours.
  4. Tabor Abrasion Resistance (ASTM C 1353): Passed 500 cycles.
  5. Shore D Hardness: (ASTM D 2240) >65.
  6. Water Absorption, (EN 12808-5):
  7. 4 hours - 0.89%.
  8. 24 hours - 1.61%.
  9. Water Vapor Transmission (ASTM E 96) Mixed with Water: < 16 perms.
  10. Water Vapor Transmission (ASTM E 96), Mixed with Acrylic Additive: < 12 perms.
  11. Compressive Strength (ASTM C 109):
  12. 7 days - > 4,500 psi (31 MPa).
  13. 28 days - > 5,000 psi (35.8 MPa).
  14. Flexural Strength (ASTM C 580):
  15. 7 days - > 1,000 psi (6.9 MPa).
  16. 28 days - > 1,100 psi (8.5 MPa).

  1. Color: Gray and White.
  1. Accessory Materials: Patching and plugging compounds recommended by the cementitious waterproofing manufacturer.

PART 3 EXECUTION

3.1EXAMINATION

  1. Examine surfaces to receive waterproofing and conditions under which waterproofing will be installed.
  1. Do not proceed with waterproofing work until surfaces and conditions comply with requirements indicated in manufacturer's printed instructions.

3.2INSTALLATION

  1. Install waterproofing in accordance with manufacturer's printed instructions and the following:
  2. Protect adjacent surfaces from cementitious waterproofing materials.
  3. Plug and patch defects in substrate.
  4. Clean deleterious materials from substrate.
  5. Apply in number of coats recommended by manufacturer to achieve recommended thickness.
  6. Cure for time period recommended by manufacturer.
