2. Foreign matter and impermeable soil materials.
E. Place backflow preventer on mixing water source prior to making connection. Comply with authority having jurisdiction.
F. Post warning signs in area of application identifying pesticide treatment.
3.2 APPLICATION
A. General:
1. Apply pesticide to friable soil with a sufficiently low moisture content to allow uniform distribution. Thoroughly cover soil adjacent to walls and other structures to provide protective barrier.
2. Apply course spray to provide uniform distribution of chemical on soil surfaces.
3. Do not apply pesticide until preparation for placing of slabs and other pertinent structures has been completed. Apply chemicals at least 12 hours prior to placing concrete and other material that will be in contact with pesticide, except apply immediately prior to placement of vapor retarder or waterproof membrane for concrete slabs and other structures.
B. Mixing:
1. Secure pesticides to prevent spillage.
2. Obtain water at approved location. Ensure backflow prevention is provided.
3. Do not over fill mixing container. Provide continuous observation during container filling operations.
C. Treatment Area:
1. Slabs on Grade: Apply immediately before vapor retarder placement.
2. Foundation Walls and Grade Beams:
a. Treat soils and fill material adjacent to exterior walls and grade beams in strip not less than [6] [______] inches wide. Apply as follows:
1) One-third of application near level of top of footings and base of grade beams before any backfill is placed.
2) One-third when half of the backfill is place.
3) Remainder when trench is filled.
b. Provide additional application for voids of unit masonry foundation walls. Apply where top of coursing meets grade level.
3. Utility Lines and Slab Penetrations: Apply to soil and fill materials about the perimeter and adjacent to utility pipes, conduits, ducts, and other items extending through slabs on grade.
D. Application Rates:
1. Apply pesticide at maximum dosing rates.
2. Apply in accordance with manufacturers directions. If required, amend application rates to meet rates approved by environmental agencies.
