MINUTES OF AGM 2014
Were read, amended and agreed, proposed by PI, seconded by PW and signed by BP, agreed by all.
MATTERS ARISING
Constitutional changes produced on separate sheet, BP to send to ERHUA
Young Umpire Award to be known as Philip Ingall Award, please amend.
CHAIRMAN
BP report provided. Copy of this available separately, commented on Lincolnshire’s progression legacy of umpires continuing with umpires promoted in both North & East Region, with NPUA umpires developing well. LHA to be discuss being added to LCHUA website. Any nominations for IOM exchange to be made, hope to send 2 people in March. Hope to carry our coaching days at clubs again. RM & Stephen Stapenhill-Hunt nominated for EH national awards, however both runners-up. Jack Warner’s nomination was not shortlisted.
TREASURER
TW provided report. PI proposed, ED seconded, all in favour.BP raised concern over the loss of Level 1 Umpire Course income now the system has been centralised by England Hockey. This is being raised in conversations with Richard Glynne-Jones separately and will be feedback to the council at the next meeting. £1k income less than previous year. Income includes shirts being bought, etc.
PI asked how much admin cost was website, £800 including set up so why big difference. TW allocated some costs in the wrong headlines when the website set up, had less sub-headings to allocate money to. BP asked if groups can be shown to explain it, print off a copy for next year and a summary for everyone else.
Donations this year £87 and last year more like £700, so another big difference.
MEMBERSHIP
TW presented report and membership numbers have slightly dropped again. PI suggested more contact and development with the members to attend these meetings, discussion for next committee meeting.
SUBSCRIPTIONS
Remain the same for another year. Memberships at £20 adult and £10 U18 and mileage allowance at 26p. £10 for unassessed adults and students, stay same for upcoming year.
Agreed not to amend mileage but this could be revisited in December. Association did make a profit and this is not a profit organisation.
CHIEF COACH
SB not available at meeting to product report, however report has been submitted and will be available online. Key points: SB & ED to attend conference in June held by EH and RGJ. New Level 1 umpires don’t get that they have to become a member of a county. DE states they are informed on his courses. PI asked how do you know an umpire is fully assessed as they get a card stating unassessed and not a new one saying assessed. Emma S states PW would not appoint an unqualified umpire. PW states that you can get this information from the LCHUA website. 10 umpires were assessed this year, with another 50 coachings took place.
YOUTH CO-ORDINATOR REPORT
RM submitted report. BP praised the work done by Ryan in his first year and is good to see the county developing more opportunities for younger umpires.
APPOINTMENTS
PW report provided. Although the county has a limited number of neutral pool umpires, it is pleasing to welcome new additions. PW doesn’t agree with website figures.
ERHUA
SB has nothing to report, he will be attending the meeting in September and he wishes to continue as the representative for LCHUA.
LHA
JW states that AGM has filled all positions and moving forward..
LINCOLNSHIRE WOMENS LEAGUE
JW reportsthat although the league is now under the guise of the East, the committee still meet to provide support to the local clubs and still continue to try and drive participation in the ladies game.
