Practical Information for participants

1) Conference Hotel:

  • Conference Hotel: Fleming’s Hotel Wien -Westbahnhof, Neubaugürtel 26-28, 1070 Vienna. The hotel is also the location of the conference on all days except the Public WAVE Conference (17th November), which will take place at the Vienna City Hall.
  • Please note that the special rates for this hotel(99 Euro inkl. Breakfast and WI-FI/115 Euro double occupancy) are only available for bookings before the 5th of September. After that date, no guarantee can be given regarding availability and rates may rise.

Please manage your own booking: After receiving your registration, the WAVE office will send you a booking form for the hotel rooms, which you are kindly asked to send to the hotel directly.

  • If you prefer to book in another hotel, you are free to do so. In this case, please also manage your own booking. The WAVE office can provide you with a list of hotel suggestions upon request.
  • Please book your flights as early as possible, the earlier booked, the cheaper the flights.

2) Financial Support for Participants:

Unfortunately, WAVE has very limited resources for financial support, so in general, WAVE cannot provide any funding – except in the following cases:

1)Speakers at Panels and at Workshops

As usual, WAVE will fund the accommodation (around 99 Euro/per night), and/or the travel expenses (max. 350 Euro) for speakersof the conference (the WAVE office will get in touch with potential speakers), upon prior agreement with the WAVE office.

2)Active Focal Points primarily from non-EU member states or from new EU member states whoneed financial support to attend the Conference

As we think it is important that all our focal points have the possibility to participate, we will also do our best to provide financial support for our Focal Points, primarily from non EU-States and new EU member States, who would otherwise not be able to attend the conference. We cannot spend a specific sum; however the price for the hotel rooms should be moderate and should not exceed 99 Euro/night. If you need financial support, please get in touch with WAVE before booking, so that we can find a solution.
