ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed bids for the furnishing of all labor and material necessary for Contract No. 1– General Construction of the Marne Ave Water Storage Tank Replacement, will be received by the City Clerk at the City Clerk’s Officein City Hall, 83 Broadway, Newburgh, New York 12550 until 2:00 pm local time on July 9, 2013,at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Bids will be received for the following Contract:

Contract No.1–General Construction –Marne Ave Water Storage Tank Replacement – Demolition and Removal of existing 1,500,000 gallon ground level riveted steel water tank, construction of 1,500,000 Gallon wire-wound, prestressed concrete tank with steel diaphragm, installation of altitude valve vault on tank inlet, check valve manhole on tank outlet, 12 inch and14 inch diameter ductile iron pipe watermain to and from new water storage tank including connections to existing water system, and miscellaneous site work.

Contract Documents, including Advertisement For Bids, Information For Bidders, Labor and Employment, Additional Instructions, Bid Documents, Agreement, General Conditions, General Requirements, Specifications, Contract Drawings and any Addenda, may be examined at no expense at the office of Barton & Loguidice, P.C., 280 Broadway, Suite 12, Newburgh, New York 12550, or at the City Engineer’s Office in City Hall, 83 Broadway, Newburgh, New York 12550. The City of Newburgh officially distributes bidding documents from the Engineer’soffice, the City of Newburgh or through the Hudson Valley Municipal Purchasing Group’s Regional Bid Notification System. This system provides convenient online access to all bid information for the City of Newburgh. Copiesof the bidding documents obtained from any other source are not considered official copies. Only those vendors who obtain bidding documents from the Engineer’s Office, or the Regional Bid Notification System will be sent addendum information, if such information is issued. Copies obtained through the HVMPG Regional Notification system are offered at no cost, while copies obtained from the City Engineer’s office incur a non-refundable cost of twenty-five dollars ($25) per copy. If you have obtained bidding documents through another source, it is recommended that you obtain an official copy. You may obtain an official copy by registering on the HVMPG Regional Notification system at hhtp:// or by visiting the City Engineer’s Office located on the first floor of City Hall, 83 Broadway, Newburgh, New York12550. Checks only shall be made payable to the City of Newburgh.

CASH DEPOSITS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. ALL HANDLING COSTS (MAIL, DELIVERY SERVICES, ETC.) SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BIDDER.

Each bid must be accompanied by security in an amount not less than five percentum (5%) of the amount of the bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the Information for Bidders. No Bidder may withdraw his bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of opening thereof.

This is an exempt capital improvement project, and Bidders shall not include in their bid sales and compensating use taxes on the cost of materials which are to be incorporated into the work and which are to be separately sold by the Contractor to the City of Newburgh prior to incorporation into the work of the Contract.

A pre-bid conference will be held on Monday, June 24, 2013 at 10:00 am at the project site along Marne Avenue. Bidding contractors shall have an authorized representative of their firm present at this meeting. Attendance is strongly encouraged.

The attention of Bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract.

The right is reserved to waive any informalities in the Bid and to reject any or all Bids.
