EntriesEntries are to be lodged with Rowing NSW by Monday 5th October 2015. Entries must be accompanied by the correct entry fee. ($13 per competitor)

ResultResults will be available at North Shore RC at the conclusion of the regatta.

TrophiesTrophies will be presented immediately after the regatta to the winners of each event with three or more entries. Please make sure that if a winning sculler is not available to receive their trophy a representative is on hand.

SpectatorsSpectators may view the racing from the grounds of North Shore RC, where refreshments will be on sale, or from Aquatic Park.

Competition Instructions

  1. Competitors must use the bow numbers provided by the Organising Committee to ensure that they can be easily identified for timing purposes.

Bow numbers can be obtained from North Shore RC from 6:00am on Saturday 10th October or earlier by arrangement withJacqui Wilkinson (0409 074 263) or John James (02 9427 2835).

A deposit of $20 each will be charged, fully refundable upon return of the number after the regatta. Any competitor arriving at the start without the correct number may not be allowed to start, as all time calculations are done using these numbers.

  1. Clubs must ensure that all competitors they enter:
  1. are capable of swimming at least 50 metres unaided whilst wearing their racing uniform
  2. have adequate health & fitness to compete in this type of event
  3. are capable of rowing the necessary distance unsupervised
  4. are aware of the racing course
  5. can steer their boat appropriately and
  6. have adequate skills to compete safely.
  7. Competitors being overtaken must move to their bowside to allow faster crews to pass.
  1. Before, during and immediately after the race competitors must follow the directions of marshals.
  1. Competitors proceeding upriver to the start must keep close to the right hand side of the river (ie rowers' bowside) and pass only through the centre arch of the Figtree Bridge.
  1. Competitors will marshal in the bay upstream of Blackman Park according to starting order. Odd numbers 20 metres out from the west bank and even numbers 10 metres from the west bank.
  1. All competitors should be marshalled in position by 7:55am. All attempts must be made to self marshal according to race number order.
  1. The start line will be marked by a buoy in the centre of the river, close to the overhead wires. Competitors must cross the start line between the buoy and the south west side of the river (ie heading downstream now the rowers' bowside).
  1. Competitors must cross the start line maintaining a distance of two boat lengths fore and aft. Your starting time will be recorded as you cross the start line.
  1. Former competitors will start at 15 second intervals. New participants in the race will start at 30 second intervals
  1. During the race, competitors must keep to the southern/western side of the river and of the large marker buoy 50 metres upstream of the bridge. Competitors may use either of the two southern arches of the bridge. No competitors may use the central arch of the bridge during the race.
  1. Boat Race Officials and marshals will be stationed at these points. Any competitor who fails to round these markers or who is on the wrong side of the river will be ordered to stop rowing immediately and will be disqualified.
  1. The Finish line is marked by a red buoy with a red flag, competitors must proceed a further 100 metres past the Finish Line before stopping.
