YOUTH GROUP NEWS

The Youth Group enjoyed their trip to OKC to the baseball game. It was Hot! We got to see Archbishop Coakley throw out the first pitch. Little did we know he was a lefty. The trip was very costly, butthanks to the parishfor paying for the fuel and theMen's Club for their donation of $200 we were able to pull it off. The Youth Group sponsored the members of Juan's young choir group. They were enjoyable to have along. We had lunch at Spaghetti Warehouse before the game and then had to walk it off by visiting the Bass Pro Shop. Our upcoming meetings are slated for 8/21 & 8/28 at 6:00 p.m. in the Basement. Hope to see you there! Tom & Jeanetta

The National Collection for the support of the Catholic University of America is scheduled for this weekend August 20-21. Dear Families, be courageous! Do not give in to that secularized mentality which proposes living together as a preparation, or even a substitute for marriage! Show by the witness of your lives that it is possible, like Christ, to love without reserve, and do not be afraid to make a commitment to another person!

~Pope Benedict XVI, Homily, Holy Mass on the Occasion of the National Day of Croatian Catholic Families, Sunday, June 5, 2011.

R Mark your calendars for St. Mary’s Blood Drive to be held on Sunday, September 11th. Since it will be on a symbolic date of 9-11, lets make this a good way to help save lives of those who are in need of blood. Take the time to make a commitment and sign up on the sheet located on the bulletin board or in the back of the body of church. Your help and giving to those in need is greatly appreciated.
