CHURCH HISTORY CLASS: Father O’Toole will start these classes on Sunday, August 19th from 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday, August 22nd from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon. Both classes will be held in the Catholic Center. The class is the same on both days. Father will begin with a review of the prior classes then move on to new material. All are welcome to attend.
Ushers: Due to a recent theft of the handicapped signs please help us out. Saturday Ushers need to make sure the handicapped signs are in place in front of church. After Mass remove them to the vestibule. Sunday Ushers need to put out the handicapped signs before Mass and remove them to the boiler room after Mass. It would be handy if the signs were placed out well before Mass. We do appreciate your time and help.
PLEASE PRAY FOR
Dan Metzer, Louie Remondino. Continue to pray for those on the August 2007 prayer sheet inserted in this bulletin. Additional copies will be available next weekend in the vestibule of the church.
FAITH FORMATION NEWS:
Letters have been sent out to all families that were enrolled in the religious education program at St. Mary Parish last year. If your family did not receive one, please call me at the office. In the letter was a “Registration Consent and Waiver” form for RE/YOUTH Activities to be filled out for each child attending Sunday school classes this fall. I appreciate all families that have returned their form along with the registration fee.
Parents, Please remember to celebrate Mass with your children during the summer months. I know summer schedules are sometimes more hectic than during the school year but attending Mass should be a #1 priority. By your example, you are shaping their young attitudes about the importance of worshiping God.
Fall classes start August 26th. Watch the bulletin for details.

NOTE TO ALL PARISHIONERS
Before, during and after Mass times on Saturday, 5:30 p.m. and Sunday, 10:45 a.m. please follow these parking rules. The rectory driveway off F Street is for HANDICAPPED PARISHIONERS ONLY. If you have an event or need to use the parish hall, you should NOT park there at all during Mass. Thank you for respecting those who need to use the handicap parking.
In planning Baptisms, Weddings, Rosary or Wake Services before the funeral, or Graveside Interments parishioners may choose the priest/deacon of their choice assigned to these parishes. They must get a commitment from the designated clergyman to function at a time mutually convenient and to complete the necessary paperwork. Those requiring a Mass must ask a priest or a priest and a deacon, but for a wedding or funeral without a Mass a deacon suffices. Priests/deacons close to parishioners from out of the parish may be invited to concelebrate. For a visiting priest/deacon to be the principal celebrant requires approval from one of our priests, an approval rarely given.
BECOMING REAL: Become the real person that God calls you to be. Held on Saturday, August 11th, 9:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Red Plains Monastery Library. To register call (405) 373-4739.
PAPAL PRAYER INTENTION FOR AUGUST
General Intention: That all those who are going through moments of inner difficulty and trial may find in Christ the light and support which leads them to discover authentic happiness.
Mission Intention: That the Church in China may bear witness to ever greater inner cohesion and may manifest her effective and visible communion with Peter’s Successor.
I want to thank all my wonderful friends who have been so good to me this past year. Thank you all, I love you.

STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT: Jesus urges us to be rich in what matters to God. The psalmist warns us against hardening our hearts. Are our hearts open to what really matters?
