14 YEARS PASS
INT. DOJO – DAY
Titumuo and Kikol are sparing and practicing their martial arts in the dojo. Kikol a young teen, brown hair with blonde tint. And a cheerful personality and smart dress sense.
TITUMUO
Kikol, you know that you are good at fighting. Well I have been thinking and I think you should consider entering a tournament. There is one in the area next week, a full championship. And I believe you will stand a good chance, so what do you say?
KIKOL
You really think I am ready? Father I have only trained here with you, and have never had experience with anyone else. I have seen things on TV where fighters are so quick and strong.
TITUMUO
Listen, Listen, and don’t think about other people, what have I taught you in the past. Centre yourself and concentrate On what you are doing and you will be fine. I will tell you something When I was your age I once got entered into a contest, in fact I wasn’t even asked, I was just placed into it. I was so scared, in fact I had never felt so much fear in all my life. But my teacher told me this. Don’t look at others think of yourself, everyone and everything has a Weakness, don’t let them find your weakness before you have even
started.
KIKOL
Did you participate?
TITUMUO
In the end, yes. And I won.
KIKOL
Were they as good as you thought?
TITUMUO
I centred myself, concentrated and picked out their weaknesses, and I won. Which is why I think you have a big chance, in fact I
know you will do well. Even if you don’t win, you will gain experience and learn lessons at the same time. So will you do it?
KIKOL
Ok -
TITUMUO
Tomorrow you must walk to the sports arena then, and sign up, the tournament is next week.
INT. SPORT ARENA – DAY
Kikol walks through town to get to the sports arena. Entering the arena walks up to the desk.
KIKOL
Hello, I am here to sign up for the tournament next week? And is there a sign up fee or -

RECEPTIONIST
Yes there is a sign up fee, what is your age sir?
KIKOL
I am 15.
RECEPTIONIST
Ok that is fine, you get discount then, the tournament consists of around 6 stages. Here is a form, if you could fill in your details and hand it back to me along with £50. This leaflet here explains all details about what time contenders must arrive, and rules and guidelines.
KIKOL
Ok thank you very much.
Kikol picks up a pen and fills in the form, gathers the money together and walks back to the desk.
KIKOL
Ok I have completed the form and here is the £50.
RECEPTIONIST
Ok thank you, I will put this onto the computer now, and good luck next week.
KIKOL
Thanks, umm do you get many contenders signing up?
RECEPTIONIST
Well yes, a lot of them are complete idiots, full of themselves and no consideration for others, its nice to see someone like
you for a change.
KIKOL

Oh £50. That is rather a lot of money, here take this.
Titumuo walks to the other side of the room, opens up a small golden pot and gathers some money from inside, then walks back to Kikol.
KIKOL
Father I don’t want this, you have already taught me, and you
feed me and allow me to stay here, I don’t deserve to take anything else.
TITUMUO
Kikol, I requested you do this tournament, so please I want to pay for you to enter. I will be offended if you choose not too.
KIKOL
Ok, well the tournament consists of 6 stages, many fighters from all over the country will be there, and here are the guidelines and information.

TITUMUO
Kikol, after seeing you yesterday in those fights, I know you are one of the best fighters in the area. I think you should try and broaden your ability, and look for different opponents in different areas of the country.
KIKOL
But Father, the last fight I received many blows.
TITUMUO
Ha-ha, when I went into tournaments as a young boy I received broken bones. You have nothing to worry about; you have a skill, why not use it and develop it.
KIKOL
So what do you suggest?
TITUMUO
Kikol, you have improved so much in such a short amount of time. I don’t even think there is much more I can teach you. In fact there is something you must know.
Kikol looks surprised and Titumuo sits down beside him.
TITUMUO
Kikol, son. You do realise I am not your true father. I will and always have been here for you. It was a dark rainy night and I was returning home from a bar. When I heard you crying. You were in a small basket on a corner step. You looked well, but I wasn’t sure about you so I ran you to the hospital. It was cleared you were fine, so I brought you home.
KIKOL
So you mean.
TITUMUO
Yes, I’m sorry, I have left it so long and I regret it.
KIKOL
Well Father, for all you have done for me I cannot be angry. In fact I am glad you found me. You have taught me so much,
TITUMUO
Son you have also learnt much from yourself.
KIKOL
Father, I would like to enter further tournaments, but only if you can still help me train.
TITUMUO
Of course, I will help you in anyway I can.

RIGHT HAND MAN
Sir, I shall. Any suggestions?
SAMO
I believe that is what I pay you for! But I do suggest you get it right. Other wise you shall pay, in fact this could even help us get the Dojo of Titumuo. Get to work!

KIKOL

JACK
You, Me after school 3:30 in the car park, you got that?
Kikol looks in disgrace turns and walks away
JACK
Hey! You had better turn up, your dead either way!
EXT.SCHOOL CAR PARK – DAY 3:30
Kikol walks towards the crowd of people gathered round in a circle. With the evil eyes of Jack looking deep into Kikol’s face, Jack suddenly runs at Kikol. Kikol stands, with rain pouring down over his face he walks towards the triad and punches him to the floor. The other two men leave the random man on the floor after hitting him down and run towards Kikol. They both aim blows to Kikol but miss.
KIKOL
Don’t hurt people who have no strength
Kikol kicks one of the men’s groins breaking his joints. With two remaining triads left they run away.
TRIAD
We will kill you, that’s a promise!
Kikol walks over to the man; he’s rather beaten up and in pain.
MAN
Thank you for helping me, you saved my life
KIKOL
Your welcome, I have to say I don’t normally join into violence but when they pushed someone who didn’t deserve it, I just had too. Are you ok?
MAN
Well I could be better, but I am now you saved me, say I would like to repay you. Will you join me in the café around the corner? Please I would like to show my thanks.
KIKOL
Well ok then,
Both Kikol and the wounded man walk down the alley way to the street at the end.
INT. CAFÉ – NIGHT
Kikol and the man are sat down on a two-seat table
KIKOL
Well thanks for buying me this
Kikol eating with a huge appetite
MAN
Haha, perhaps you should slow down a bit, you may get indigestion.
KIKOL
So why were those men chasing you?
MAN
I own a property that they wish to get their hands on. I am trying my best to stop it. In the past year many sad things have happened, and I have found it all so hard to cope with. By the way what’s your name?
KIKOL
My name is Kikol
MAN
Kikol? I must leave
The man begins to get up but Kikol grabs his arm
KIKOL
But why? Wait. is that you father?
TITUMUO
Do not call me father, I told you I disowned you
KIKOL
Please just hear my side of the story. I was framed! Do you really think I would take drugs and give you a bad name? I was doing ok on my own!
TITUMUO
So why were the stories published?
KIKOL
I don’t know, but after I had to leave several people were after me. I managed to get away from them but they kept coming back. Eventually I found a place to live down the alley with people I got to know. I also went to school for the first time.
TITUMUO
Well I have to admit, it would make sense. As soon as you left, I was being bombarded by men in suits ordering money. Receiving death threats in letters. In fact I nearly gave up the dojo.
KIKOL
Father, I’m sorry about the accusations in the paper, but I promise you. I have never and never would take drugs.
TITUMUO
Well, perhaps you should come back home with me. I mean I do owe you something now for saving my life.
KIKOL
