Research assistantship (SeaGrant Trainee), Levin Lab, Scripps Institution of Oceanography (August 2001 – August 2003) Conducted independent field project on plant-mediated effects on infaunal diversity. Assisted with field collection of salt marsh data and with in-lab analysis of infauna, sediment, and algae. Assisted with isotope experiments related to Spartina foliosa invasion in San Francisco

Research Biologist with SmithsonianEnvironmentalResearchCenter, Invasions Biology Lab (February 2000- August 2001 ) Continued research on invasive parasites in Macoma balthica.Data manger for ballast water arrival and biota experiment. Organized ballast sampling and analysis. Assisted with several ongoing projects in lab (fouling community studies, green crab research, algae cultures, National Ballast Water Clearinghouse).

Research Intern with SmithsonianEnvironmentalResearchCenter, Invasions Biology Lab (November 1999 – February 2000) Conducted intern research project evaluating the effect of two invasive parasites on the health of Macoma balthica. Assisted with data entry and management for National Ballast Water Clearinghouse.

Research Intern with The Nature Conservancy, Delaware Chapter (June 1999 - October 1999) Assisted with

data collection and trained volunteers for NanticokeRiver wetlands hydrogeomorphic assessment project.

Research on Mortality of Forest Genetics Plantations, WilliamsCollegeCenter for Environmental Studies Summer Opportunity Grant, (June 1998 - August 1998). Studied survival and disease rates of genetic crosses of trees as senior thesis; involved extensive field work, data entry and analysis, and GIS mapping.
