Low Incidence Goals for Annual Report 2012-13

Goal 1: Math Curriculum Project

DCD Teachers will improve implementation fidelity for math instruction for students who are severely below grade level performance. DCD Teachers will use alternate core curricula when students are pulled out of the general math setting.

Measurement:

•Attendance at 4 DCD Meetings on the topic of Math Instruction Methods using Equals Curriculum and Equals Pre Algebra and Pre Geometry.

•Fidelity checks of implementation of the curriculum.

• Teacher report of student progress using unit mastery measures from the curriculum.

Goal 2: Literacy Skills for Students with Severe Disabilities

DCD Teachers will improve implementation fidelity for reading and language arts instruction for students who have severe disabilities and need assistive technology services to access literacy activities. DCD Teachers will implement a Four Blocks system of interventions for literacy.

Measurement:

• Fidelity checks of implementation of MeVille To WeVille Curriculum from Ablenet Inc, and Literacy Starters from Don Johnston Inc.

• Fidelity checks of implementation of Every Move Counts 3 and Communication Matrix for students who have severe motor and communication challenges.

• Progress monitoring results on Severe Multiple Impaired caseload CIMP reviews.

Goal 3: Improve Evaluation Report Writing: Observations for Criteria and Related Service

All Special Education Staff will improve evaluation and report writing skills for observations using appropriate tools.

Measurement:

•CIMP Evaluation Report rubric.

Goal 4: RTI and the School Speech and Language Pathologist

All SLPs will improve understanding and skills of their role in Response To Intervention structure. SLPs will implement model such as Story Champs as part of RTI.

Measurement:

•SLPs will report on the broad activities they’ve implemented at their sites supporting the RTI process at their school.

•Beginning- and end-of-year data comparison re: implementation of SCRED-supported efforts by educational speech-language pathologists.

Secondary Transition:

Goal: Improve employment instruction setting options for students.

Measurement:

•PAES Lab fidelity checks for implementation at NB STEP and CL STEP.

•Review the final report of CCTIC project for SCANS Skill Job Development.

•Review the teacher reports of instruction setting options for Pine County.
