Competition Format: Aim is to maximize each fencer’s number of fights. Optimum format is one/two rounds of poules, DE and repèchage or all places fenced off (dependent on entries). U10 competition will be run separately, but U12/U14 and U16/O16 may be combined in the poule rounds only.

Please Note: All weapons will use electric equipment – there are no steam events.

Under 10 – fencers aged under 10 on 1st January 2011 – Size 0 blades

Under 12 – fencers aged under 12 on 1st January 2011 – Size 3 Foil and Size 2 Sabre or Epee

Under 14 – fencers aged under 14 on 1st January 2011 – Size 2 or 3 weapons

Under 16 – fencers aged under 16 on 1st January 2011 – Size 5 weapons

Over 16 – fencers aged 16 or over on 1st January 2011 – Size 5 weapons

(Fencers must be at school, or have left school and would have been in 5th or 6th year)

Entry Fee: £10 for one weapon, £16 for two (U10’s £8/£12 respectively). Only U10’s can enter 2 weapons / day.

Entries to be received by Monday 14th March Late entries may be charged at £2 extra per weapon or may be waived at discretion of F4SF.

Notes: All entrants must be current members of the BFA. Membership cards or equivalent proof of membership must be shown at check in – memberships may be purchased on the competition day if required.

Running Late: If you think you are going to be arriving late on the day, then please call or text Helen Hellewell on 07805 059861 by the close of check-in time for your event.

Equipment: All equipment must be in good condition and meet safety regulations. Kit shall be checked prior to fencing. A 350 Newton or 800 Newton jacket must be worn. Fencing breeches are required for all competitors using size 5 weapons, but strongly recommended for all competitors. Underplastrons must be worn (350N U10-U14, 800N for U16 and O16).

Note as per British Fencing guidance the new foil target will be used for all events using size 5 weapons
