SCNC’S ANNUAL WATER TRAINING WORKSHOP

Saturday- Sunday, June 10-11 2017 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

SCNC is very pleased to offer you a 2 day water workshop in Niles, MI at Bob and Lawren Coulam Kinney’s pond.

So come on over for a fun weekend of training your dog. Saturday will concentrate on learning from the very beginning with your dog and introducing the 3 NCA testing levels: Water Dog; Water Rescue Dog; Water Rescue Dog Excellent. Sunday will be spent problem solving and working with dogs with some water experience. Beginners can stay for Sunday and learn some tips and / or work their dogs.

Everyone will need to bring:

  • comfortable clothing that can get wet
  • foot protection to wear in the water
  • life jacket for yourself
  • your lunch, drinks and snacks
  • sunscreen
  • lawn chair
  • water and snacks for your dog
  • training equipment for the level you will be training
  • crate
  • special treats for your dog
  • buckle collar for your dog
  • 6' leash – polypropylene, nylon, or cotton (leather is slick when wet)

The Water Test Regulations are available at the NCA website, NCANewfs.org, using the links on the left for Working, then Water. You will certainly want to know what the exercises are that you will be training; having a copy on hand to refer to will be helpful.
