  • All schools will be expected to complete the annual ‘how you travel to school’ student and staff survey *
  • This could be a legal obligation for your school.

STARS Reward Scheme / STP / Schools that are STARS accredited are eligible to apply for grants to contribute towards their sustainable travel efforts. In addition, schools that continue to upload stories, surveys and review their issues in interim years of accreditation validity (i.e. years 2 of Silver and 2 and 3 of Gold) will be eligible for nominal sums without having to apply. / ☐ /
Safe Drive Stay Alive
Year 12 students
(October) / Road Safety / Aimed to reduce road casualties in the high risk group, ages 17-24. Target audience is all Year 12 students, could also be suitable for Year 13. Half day at Questors theatre w/c 9thOctober. Limited places are still available – first come first served. / ☐ /
On Road Cycle Training
(all year) / Cycling / Up to Bikeability Level three can be delivered in or out of school hours in small groups. The council strongly encourages schools to take up and promote this training to pupils. / ☐ /
The Big Pedal
(dates TBC) / Cycling / Cycle to school challenge for all schools in UK. Sign up and log the journeys on-line (& bike shed counts) and enter the chance to win an Ealing Prize for the school. Usually takes places March/April.

Youth
Travel Ambassadors
(YTA) / Pupil role in school travel / Student led projects to promote active travel, bus behaviour or road safety. Includes pitching for funding. Short programme (3 sessions for new YTA schools) or full (8 sessions for current YTA schools), supported by an external specialist advisor from TfL. For more information see / ☐ /
