Arizona State University at the West campus invites applications for a Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor in Forensics.

General information: The School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences (http://newcollege.asu.edu/mns) at Arizona State University’s West campus is a broad-based mathematics and natural science unit that encompasses biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, computing, and statistics. The School offers a B.S. degree in Life Sciences and a minor in Chemistry. In addition, the School offers a popular B.S. degree in Life Sciences (Forensics concentration) and anticipates offering a B.S. degree in Forensics beginning in Fall 2013. The successful candidate will oversee and manage the Forensics degree programs within the School as well as coordinate efforts to accredit the Forensics degree programs through the Forensic Science Education Programs Accreditation Commission (FEPAC). Furthermore, successful candidates will be expected to teach classes including upper division specialty courses in our new programs in Forensics. Participation in research that enhances the forensics degree programs is encouraged, and the School emphasizes hands-on experience for undergraduates in internships and faculty research programs. The School is committed to recruiting and retaining students and faculty from groups that have historically been underrepresented in the natural sciences.

Required Qualifications:

1) Minimum of a Master’s or professional degree appropriate for a forensics program and three or more years of experience in a forensic science laboratory (the three year period cannot include training); OR a doctorate in a forensics-relevant discipline and three years of experience as an academic forensic scientist that includes appropriate educational, research, and service contributions to the field of forensics.

2) Management experience that demonstrates an ability to manage forensics degree programs.

3) Commitment and ability to work with a diverse student population.

4) Ability to contribute to the School in the areas of teaching and service.
