By means of this conference the Central Region of the SAAA aims to contribute to the goals of the SAAA to initiate research in accounting and related subjects, to encourage and assist the publishing of research findings, to disseminate relevant information pertaining to accounting and related disciplines as widely as possible, and to continuously identify and address contemporary questions arising from the environment within which accountancy is practiced.
Submission of papers:
Papers are called for in the following areas of Accounting and related disciplines:
Accounting EducationAccounting Education and Research

Corporate Governance
Ethics
Financial Accounting and International Accounting
Financial Management
Information Systems and Computer Auditing
Management accounting
Public Sector Accounting and Non-Profit Accounting
Social and Environmental Accounting

Papers will be accepted and presented in two categories:
Refereed:Manuscripts (research papers) of a sufficient academic standard are to be subjected to a referee process.
Non-refereed:Manuscripts that will not be refereed. A manuscript can comprise a research paper, discussion of a particular topic, work in progress, comment on and/or discussion of an existing research paper, etc.
Abstracts must be submitted before 3August 2012 to the conference convenor, Dr. Hanli Joubertby e-mail to .
Letters of acceptance or rejection will be sent timeously after receipt of the abstract, but no later than 14 August 2012.
Final papers conforming to the following requirements must be submitted before 12September 2012 to the conference convenor, Dr Hanli Joubertby e-mail to .
Manuscripts may be written in English or Afrikaans, must be typed in double spacing, font in Times New Roman/Arial (font size 12), and should not exceed 25 pages.
The Harvard referencing method should be used.
Manuscripts must include an abstract.
A separate sheet accompanying the manuscript should include the title, affiliation, contact address, phone number, fax and e-mail address of the author(s), as well as the category for submission – refereed or non-refereed.
The deadline for submission is 12 September 2012 (full paper: refereed category, or comprehensive abstract: non refereed category).
The time for presentation shall be 20 minutes, plus an additional 10 minutes for questions.
