Service overview

Delivered by an experienced Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Improvement Partner, this flexible service offers tailored support and trainingdesigned to meet the needs ofseniorleadersin schools. The EYFS consultancy service aims to improve learning outcomes for children through monitoring, challenge and reflection; supporting schools to be good with an aspiration to being outstanding.

What you can expect

The Improvement Partner for Early Years will work in partnership with senior leaders toprovidemonitoring, support and challenge in relation to all aspects of EYFS improvement, but specifically in relation to:

  • Improvement planning across all or specific areas of EYFS learning
  • Effectiveness of EYFS leadership and management
  • Evaluation and development of EYFS enabling environments
  • Monitoring quality of provision and practice
  • Pre and post Ofsted inspection support
  • Teaching, learning and assessment
  • Early Years Foundation Stage Profile processes
  • Accuracy of EYFSP moderation of internal judgements

The package is delivered by an Early Years Improvement Partner with awealth of experience and understanding of current EYFS educational matters in a national and Milton Keynes context.

What will the Improvement Partner do?

  • Talk with senior leaders to understand the specific EYFS requirements of the school
  • Advise on potential delivery options and associated costs
  • Agree the focus for consultancy work and dates for school visits
  • Prepare for school visits
  • Undertake work in schools as agreed with senior leaders
  • Provide written reports (notes of visits) after each visit
  • Liaise with external parties as required and/or necessary
  • Signpost senior leaders to other services as appropriate

What will senior leaders do?

  • Talk openly withtheImprovement Partner to ensure there is clarity about the specific EYFS requirements of the school
  • Agree the focus for consultancy work and dates for school visits
  • Provide school performance data and other information as relevant to activities undertaken
  • Be prepared for meetings as agreed with theImprovement Partner
  • Be willing to take on board new ideas and respond positively to the advice and challenge given, understanding that this is offered in order to support positive and sustainable change

Cost

The cost of the service is outlinedon the adjacent table. Schools can buy multiple packages, including single days, to ensure that support matches their specific requirements.

Length of agreement and cancellation policy

This is a PAU service.

It is acknowledged that occasionally it might be necessary to cancel a pre-arranged health check day at short notice. However, MKC reserves the right to decline to re-arrange the day unless there are exceptional circumstances e.g. Ofsted inspection. All services purchased to be used in the same financial year
