School & Home Communication
Planners/Homework Folders
- Students will record their assignments in their planners each day and have a parent or guardian sign it off each school day.
- Students are to put the homework they need to complete in the “HOMEWORK” pocket of their Homework Folder (left side) to bring home to finish.
- Each evening students, and parents as necessary, will check their planners/assignments.
- When homework is completed, students will put their finished homework in the “TURN-IN” pocket of their Homework Folder (right side) to be brought back to school the next school day.
Skyward/Family Access
- Each student is given their own usernames & passwords to check their school progress through Family Access which they should do at least once per week.
- Parents also have their own separate access to check their student’s progress at regular intervals which is determined by each student.
- Parents & their students should talk to each other about their progress and contact specific teachers if there are any areas of concerns that need to be addressed.
- If an assignment is missing, it should be completed and turned in.
- If an assignment has a “2” grade or lower, the assignment may be finished or redone and then resubmitted for a better grade.
Conferences
- All students are required to go to their conferences to assist in leading the conference.
- Fall Conferences are Oct. 17 & 18 and are set aside as a get-to-know the student better, as well as for each student to set at least one academic goal.
- Winter Conferences are half-day Jan. 22nd and full days Jan. 23 & 24 are to check in on the first report card that comes out and to re-establish or create new academic goals.
