Introduction: This student assessment matrix outlines the instruments, tools, and strategies used to gather evidence of student learning. The assessments are grouped into four categories: 1) state and national assessments, 2) districtwide common assessments, 3) schoolwide common assessments, and 4) classroom-based assessments. The matrix provides an “at a glance” overview of how student performance is measured and monitored for instructional planning and decision making as well as for student involvement in self-assessment and goal setting.
