SUMMARY: To assist the Transportation Director in providing safe, accurate and efficient transportation services for the students involved in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned)

1.  To establish and maintain all non-traditional routes transporting students to and from school. These routes will be continually updated throughout the year. Such routes are to include but are not limited to the following.

·  PEP Program

·  Special Education

·  Headstart

·  Etc.

2.  To keep accurate and up-to-date records of all routes.

3.  Assist the Assistant Supervisors with maintaining Edulog routing software for all bus routes.

4.  Coordinate bus information for drivers and bus helpers.

5.  Ongoing interaction with parents, building staff, drivers and helpers.

6.  To assist with all other computer data as requested by administration.

7.  Coordinate with other agencies in supplying accurate transportation information.

8.  Assist transportation secretary and dispatcher as needed.

9.  To maintain absolute confidentiality and ethical standards in all school or school-system matters.

10.  To advise the Director of concerns relative to all aspects of the Transportation Program.

11.  To perform such other duties as may be requested by the Director and Assistant Supervisors.

Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: High school graduate or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as computer software manuals and procedure manuals. Ability to write procedures for employees and communications to employees. Ability to communicate with employees to train.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration, and percent.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Skills and Abilities: Experience working with computers is necessary. Windows training/experience is preferred. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the community. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
