School Compliance and Improvement Officer

The School Compliance and Improvement Officer works within the School Compliance and Improvement team of Compliance and System Performance

  • assist in managing Registration and Accreditation of schools with the Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards (BOSTES) assisting schools in the system with quality assurance/school improvement processes and coordinating the Annual School Reports
  • assist in liaising with the BOSTES and the Catholic Education Commission (CEC) in regards to regulatory and accountability requirements and information about schools in the system
  • assist in reporting annually on system compliance to stakeholders

Salary and Conditions:

The salary is Professional Officer Level 4 Step 2, currently $124,982 per annum. Superannuation and leave loading will be in addition to the basic salary. Salary packaging options are available.

INTERVIEW

REFEREES

DECISION

FUNCTIONS

  • Foster Gospel values and act according to Catholic ethos
  • Assist in the management of the Registration and Accreditation of all systemic schools including new schools and years of schooling
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends in education and informed about legislative requirements/changes
  • Liaise with and disseminate correspondence from government bodies regarding legislation
  • Provide information about schools in the system as requested by the BOSTES and CECNSW
  • Provide information and support to schools to ensure all compliance requirements are met
  • Create audit tools and associated support documentation
  • Conduct staff information sessions, staff development days and mini audits
  • Induct new principals in the management of compliance
  • Liaise with other relevant Catholic Education, Diocese of Parramatta (CEDP) staff regarding the management of compliance and school improvement
  • Set up compliance audits and conduct training for schools including facilitation of peer review sessions
  • Facilitate school compliance audits and compliance audit reports
  • Assess self-monitoring of compliance for schools annually
  • Assist in the management of the process of Annual school Reports and ensure these are completed to a high standard in a timely manner.
  • Assist in preparation of an annual summary regarding compliance processes for the Parramatta Diocesan Council K-12 Education Report and the CEDP Annual Report
  • Assist in planning and management of the budget for School Compliance and Improvement
  • Report regularly to the Directors of System Performance
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of the system of schools' priorities and strategic intent
  • Undertake development and review processes
  • Complete other duties as required by the Senior Compliance Officer, Team Leader, Directors of System Performance and the Executive Director of Schools
