ALL THE IMPORTANT DETAILS …

The Lake Forest Home School Club has partnered with School at Sea 2010 who will provide unique programs of special interest to homeschooling families and friends who share a love of learning by experiencing the world.Along the way we will be visiting exciting ports in the Western Caribbean, including Progresso and Cozumel. Our Group Cruise Specialist will be onboard to help ensure your family has a wonderful vacation experience.

Rates include:accommodations, all meals/snacks/drinks, 24/7 room service, 24/7 movies, kids clubs, live entertainment, scheduled onboard activities, pools and hot tubs and more. School at Sea participants will also have the option of attending exclusive hands-on workshops and exclusive “family friendly” activities such as pizza parties, art shows, trivia contests, and our special School at Sea Scavenger Hunt. Whether you spend your free time being pampered by the ship's staff, meeting new friends from around the world, and/or participating in a variety of daily activitiesboth onboard and in port … the choice is yours!

*What about passports? Since this is a "closed loop" cruise (begins and ends in same US port), passports are not required. If travelers do not have passports, they are required to present a certified copy of birth certificate plus a drivers license or other government approved photo ID for all travelers 16yrs+.

ADDITIONAL EXTRAS INCLUDED:Each participating family will receive a “100 Days” packet, with travel information, packing tips and a personalized Christian-basedcurriculum including geography, science, history, social studies and more … all based on the ports/region we will be visiting. This builds excitement for your vacation plans, and allows your family to “get to know” the part of the world you will soon be exploring.

Many favorite homeschool vendors have chosen to participate in School at Sea. You may have a chance to test new products, view programs and boxed curriculums, and meet some homeschooling experts.

*Carnival highly recommends all guests travel with a passport(valid for at least six months beyond completion of travel). Although a passport is not required for U.S. citizens taking cruises that begin & end in the same U.S. port, travelling with a passport enhances your disembarkation experience, as delays may be expected upon your return to the U.S. if you do not have one. Additionally, passports make it easier for you to fly from the U.S. to a foreign port should you miss your scheduled port of embarkation, or need to fly back to the U.S. for emergency reasons.

The Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) allows U.S. citizens (including children) sailing on cruises that begin and end in the same U.S. port to travel with one of the following WHTIcompliant document:

  • Valid U.S. Passport
  • Original or suitable quality copy of a Birth Certificate
  • Certificate of Naturalization
  • Passport Card
  • Enhanced Driver's License (EDL)
  • Trusted Traveler Program Membership Card, e.g., Nexus Card, Sentri Card or Fast Card

A government-issued photo IDis also required for all guests, including children 16 and over. For more information, a complete list of WHTI-compliant documents or to obtain a passport application, visit .

When traveling with a minor and both parents/legal guardians are not cruising, we strongly recommend bringing an original, signed letter from the absent parent/legal guardian authorizing the minor to travel with you. This will expedite processing by the Department of Homeland Security. Please note that a notarized letter to this effect is required if debarking with children in Mexico.
