  1. Park Scholar Awards-at Ithaca College, NY. It is part of the Roy H. Park School of Communications. In the Park Scholar experience includes media majors (cinema and photography, communication management & design, documentary studies & production, emerging media, film, photography & visual arts, integrated marketing communications, journalism, and television-radio)

Essay: Two essays required

Award: Renewable for up to three (for a total of four); covers the full cost of attendance (approx. $53,000-tuition, room, and board) per year; and stipends for living expenses books, and a one-time computer purchase of $2500.

Deadline: January 15, 2014 (must have college application on file by January 2, 2014)

  1. 2014 NFIB Young Entrepreneur Award-open to any graduating high school senior entering their freshman year at an accredited (not for profit) two- or four-year university, college or vocational/technical institute. Applicants MUST be running their own small business in order to be considered for an award.

Awards: $1,000 (number not listed-several), four $5,000, and one $10,000 (non-renewable)

Criteria for Selection: strength of curriculum and academic performance in high school, interview, declare computer science or information technology and systems as program of study, and full-time enrollment at Marist starting fall 2014
