Classification of Dogs at WAG Shows & details of the Accumulator Stakes
Starters – open to dogs that have not won a standard class at a licensed agility show (elementary excepted). Experienced handlers may compete with dogs in WAG Starters shows that have not won a class in their own right!
Novice - Open to dogs that are not eligible for Senior or Advanced classes.
Intermediate - Open to all except dogs eligible for Elementary and Starters Classes at a licensed Agility Test.
Open - Open to all
Accumulator Stakes – This is an agility class where the course time of 40 seconds will be set and a competitor can do any equipment in that time with the exception that contact equipment & bonus may only be done twice (correctly) in the course – but EVERY other obstacle can be done as many times as you like. Points are awarded for each obstacle with the aim being to “accumulate” as many points as you can in the fastest time (a bit like gamblers but with no gamble to complete at the end and less restrictions on what you do in your course time)
Also, please note – due to the awarding of points for the challenge trophies, a dog may continue in the level of classes that it commences the Wag winter league of shows (especially as there are only a few licensed shows during the winter months!)
