INNOVATION INCENTIVE AWARDS

INFORMATION SHEET

The Scarsdale Teachers Institute INNOVATION INCENTIVES Award Program encourages teachers and other educators to design, implement, and assess innovative curriculum practices and research projects aimed at improving learning and teaching.

☐ Individuals or teams must submit a typed application of no more than two pages. Applications may be submitted as hard copy or by email attachment in a word document format. Proposals must clearly express the purposes and goals of an innovative curriculum plan or a research project.

☐ Applicants may request any amount from $100 to $1000. Recipients may use Innovation Incentive awards for honoraria and/or materials needed to develop an innovative classroom research project or curriculum plan.

☐ InnovationIncentivestipends are notawarded

• to pay for speakers or consultants.

•to continue projects previously funded through the STI MiniGrant or Incentives program.

• to fund the purchase of standard classroom supplies, but they may be used to buy materials needed to implement a project.

☐ Applicants developing a project with a technology component that is beyond their expertise and comfort should include a staff member with knowledge of the technology aspect of the project.

☐ Project ideas should be reviewed with building principals for compatibility with school-wide goals, organization, and schedule.

☐ Applicants may submit more than one proposal. Each proposal is evaluated individually on merit.

☐ Applications must be received at the STI office no later than 4pm, FRIDAY, November 13, 2015. Awards will be announced by Tuesday, November 23, 2015.

☐ Final projects and expense documentation must be received at the STI office by Friday, May 20, 2016. Innovation Incentive recipients will be invited to present their project results at the STI Policy Board meeting in December2016.
