DuPont Update
- Dave Steward showed the members a power point presentation on a community survey that entailed community opinions about DuPont and chemical plants.
- George Osei has taken a pension from DuPont and is no longer a CAP member.
- Jeff Stanisweski will be the second CAP representative from DuPont. Jeff was very helpful at Sayreville Day and brings with him years of experience at DuPont as well as his general concerns for the community.
- Safety is doing well – it’s been almost a year since someone was hurt.
- DuPont had an emergency drill with the borough on the weekend of November 10, 2007.
- DuPont has been hiring some more employees ( between 30-35 new hires during 2007)
- In general, the plant has been doing well, although PYROLUX has been slow.
- Dr. Sheila Weaver has received a grant on behalf of the RIME program and DuPont has matched that grant money.
- Land parcel donation – the borough introduced an ordinance to accept the 120 acres donated by DuPont. It will be voted on in the near future. The land includes the Wildlife Preserve and land by the ball field on the other side of Cheesequake Road.
Hercules Update
- Paul Tuck mentioned that the DEP application is in the review stage.
- Business is doing well, and a lot of business is being shipped overseas.
Other business

Suggested topics for our meetings:

(Barry Eck can put an emergency scroll on the TVs that have cablevision)
What to do ICE (In Case of Emergency) on your cell phones (quick – about 5 minutes)
Communication with community (maybe some of the info from the power point)
Bios on the plants for our local newspaper
Maybe invite CAP members to watch one of the drills like DuPont had in November?
RIME would like to invite SayrevilleWarMemorialHigh School into their program, however, they need more corporate sponsors to help fund the program (Michelle will look for leads at the CAPFEST)
More community members signed up to find out about the Sayreville CAP, DuPont, and Hercules at Sayreville Day 2007. When would be a good time to extend an invitation to one of our meetings?
