Summary
I have nine years of experience in the oil and gas industry. I haveacquired extensive knowledge of the preliminary process of drilling a well including stand-up, mapping, running certified title, writing the title opinion, title opinion review and DOI reports. Many years of my oil and gas career included working closely with the leasing, mapping and engineering departments. I believe these opportunities have given me additional experience and knowledge above that of which most abstractors acquire.I have spent the last several years of my career working from beginning to end on preliminary drill site title opinions for an individual company. I believe these opportunities have given me extensive knowledge that would make me an asset to any oil and gas company or brokerage.
Accomplishments
- Training
I have been responsible for training and managing new employees. This included doing title reviews, scheduling and title curative issues.
- Title Opinions
I have worked hand in hand withlaw firms writing and structuring title opinions. I ran “certified” title in order to formulate a preliminary drill site title opinion, and submitted these preliminaries directly to the law firm with copies of every document within the chain of title. I then worked directly with an agent of the law firm to cure any issues that may cause a cloud to arise on the title.
- Division of Interest Orders
Once the final signed title opinion was received by the company, I was then responsible for obtaining the plat from our surveyor in order to determine and formulate the division of interests for each participating and non-participating royalty holder in a particular drilling unit.
- General Knowledge
I am of the opinion that my extensive responsibilities have given me experience that most general abstractors do not acquire. This experience gives me a broader understanding of terminology and overall comprehension of how stand-up and certified title partner into forming a well and revenue for a company. This results in a more complete stand-up or title opinion with less gaps or curative issues to be worked out by a different employee.

Independent Contract Agent
In the last eight years, I have worked with several individuals in determining oil and gas leasing and royalty ownership. I have also worked for independent companies for basic oil and gas ownership research. I have maintained leasing files and reviewed royalty disbursements prior to payment. Prior to my employment with Percheron, I spent several years working on a contract basis for Hard Rock Exploration, Inc. I worked directly with their leasing agents and engineering departments to aid in developing a drilling program to adequately space each well, and to determine a tracts ability to be fully leased. I acquired several skills such as reading topographical maps and platting while working with these different departments. Besides stand-up, I also spent several years working directly with Hard Rock’s law firm completing title opinions for their well units. I began using my own stand-up, running certified and then typing and submitting a preliminary title opinion directly to the law firm. The law firm finalized and approved my preliminary opinion, and we worked together to correct any issues that may have caused a cloud on the title. Along with the title opinion, I also worked directly with their surveying company to acquire the finalized plats. From the finalized plats and title opinions, I formulated and completed the division of interest orders for each unit. I have also trained and supervised several new employees. I also have experience in stand up review and curative issues. I am experienced in title opinion review, and completing curative analysis for the Curative Department.
