MEMORANDUM
DATE:May 29, 2007
TO:Dr. Cecile Lindsey, Associate Vice President, Academic Affairs
FROM:Dr. Fiber, Chair, Department of Basket Weaving
RE:Proposal for Expedited Review for BA in Basket Weaving
The BA in Basket Weaving is accredited by the American Association for Basket Weaving Education (AABWE). The most recent accreditation process was concluded in Spring 2007. The department proposes:
1) to use its self-study for accreditation as the required self-study for program review;
2) to use the report of the visiting team from AABWE as the required external review; and
2) to use the final report/decision from the accrediting agency as the required internal program review report.
The program’s self-study for accreditation addresses some of the topics and issues specified in the letter from the Vice Provost for all self-studies written during the 2006-2007 academic year. Attachment 1 indicates where these elements can be found in the accreditation self-study. For topics or issues not addressed in the self-study, a brief appendix has been prepared which will be delivered along with the self-study.
The program’s self-study for accreditation addresses all of the topics and issues specified in the document “Elements of the Self-Study.” Attachment 2 indicates where the required elements can be found in the accreditation self-study. All required tables will be provided in an appendix which will be delivered with the self-study.
[Optional: In addition, the self-study addresses areas identified by the accrediting organization (AABWE) which we wish to bring to the attention of the program review process, including: (list here).]
