Hutto Education Foundation and Hutto ISD Award $73,000 to Teachers

Hutto, TX -- On November 18th and 20th, the Hutto Education Foundation, in partnership with Hutto ISD, gave out over $73,000 in grant funds for Hutto ISD submitted teacher projects.

Hutto High School:

-  Angela Hartman and Sharon Case received $4,940.72 for “One Book, One Community” for all HISD students

-  Eric De La Houssaye received a $1,190 grant, sponsored by Al Clawson, for “Weather Bug Streamer RT” for all 7th through 12th grade coaches

-  Shirley Reich and Patrick Byrne received a $3,000 grant, sponsored by Baird Williams, for “Making Raspberry Pi’s” for 9th through 12th graders

Hutto Middle School:

-  Brent Acuff received $2,675.20 for “Musical Diversity through World Percussion” for 6th through 8th grade band students

-  Gabrielle Rabon received $1,458 for “Bringing MIT Chemistry to Hutto Middle School” for 8th grade students

-  Andrew Haub received $4,905.02 for “Next Generation Robotics” for 6th through 8th grade students

-  Pam Gilley received $511.18 for “Enriching Math Education” for the Hutto Middle School math department

-  Ryan Mann received $4,996.20 for “Engineers of Tomorrow” for the 6th grade Robotics classes

Farley Middle School:

-  Lyn Gutierrez, Mendy Betchan, Yvette Velasco, Rebekah Gibbs, Amber Walker, Rosa Ramirez, and Jaclyn Stugart received $4,996.20 for “The World at our Fingertips” for 6th grade students

-  Rebekah Gibbs, Shelly Buchanan, Judi Chapman, Jaclyn Stugart, and Deborah Mauldin received $$4,996.20 for “Revolutionize Technology” for 6th through 8th grade students

Cottonwood Creek Elementary School:

-  Jill Touchstone received a $4,816.90 grant, sponsored by Pfluger Architects, for “Reaching for Our Stars Through Technology” for her 2nd and 4th grade students

-  Erin Snider received $4,929.14 for “Powering Up to Learn” for her 2nd and 4th grade students

Nadine Johnson Elementary School:

-  Dawn Gallaway, Christina Haisler, Michelle Kurylowicz, Melissa Finley, Phyllis Wilson, and Keyla Unger received a $5,000 grant, sponsored by Pfluger Architects, for “PBL Electronic Innovation Grant” for 2nd grade students

-  Lindsey Kozek, Amy Pruitt, Tiffany Vogelman, Stacey Gist, Peyton Roth, and Crystal Hampton received $4,996.20 for “Closing the Gap with Technology” for 1st grade students

-  Lori Miller received $1,226.70 for “Weather Data Detectives” for 4th grade students

-  Melissa Finley, Dawn Galloway, Keyla Unger, Michelle Kurylowicz, Chrissy Haisler, and Phyllis Wilson received $4,452.20 for “Everyday Counts in 2nd Grade Math” for 2nd grade math students

-  Yvette Bigham received $3,985.71 for “The Art of Writing” for 4th grade students

Ray Elementary School:

-  Ashley Fulp received $4,996.20 for “Redefine the Classroom: Teach like it’s 2099” for 5th grade students

-  Nichole Pena and Karina Olson received a $4,996.20 grant, sponsored by the YMCA, for “Growing with Chromebooks” for 1st grade students
