Summary of Week 1:

We are assuming this is a 3 hour class. Best practice states that students should complete 2 hours of work outside of class for every credit hour. This expectation should be communicated clearly to students. We have assigned 6 hours of Lesson assignments this week. We have also planned for 3 hours of class time. Each of the topics will account for approx. 1 hour of class. Each hour will start with a 15-20 min. “mini-lecture” from the power point slides that we selected to emphasize including slides that need to be emphasized based on viewing the “Lesson Performance Reports” prior to class. We have included approx. 1.5 hours of active classroom discussion and activities. Some time is left for breaks.

Summary of Week 2: We have assigned 6 hours of Lesson assignments this week. We have also planned for 3 hours of class time. Leadership and Collaboration will be reviewed during the 1st hour of class. There will be a short, “mini-lecture” on these topics, a case study activity, and in class quiz during this time. Next, we will focus on the Nursing Process, Critical Thinking, and EBP. There will be a 30 minute lecture on the Nursing Process and Critical Thinking. In class activities and discussion will account for the remaining 1.5 hours of class. There will be time for breaks.
