Sales Counselor

Since 1967,Friends House has offered adults, 62 & older an affordable and fulfilling retirement experience in Sandy Spring, Maryland.Friends House is in the process of developing an expansion of its current product set and is currently seeking a full-time sales counselor.

Are you looking for a position where you can use your relationship-building skills and thatallows you to help seniors improve their quality of life? Are you familiar with financial plans and contracts in the senior living environment? Do you have experience selling Independent Living, Assisted Livingand Memory Support residences? We are looking for a full-time professional who wants to sell an excellent product in a caring environment through educating and informing potential customers about the benefits of living in a new retirement community.

To be successful in this position, you need to possess effective listening skills, understand the needs of prospective residents, be a problem-solver, know how to overcome perceived obstacles, communicate the benefits of living at a retirement community and be able to close a sale.

Specifically your responsibilities will include:

●Meeting call and contact goals by making phone calls and having face-to-face meetings with prospective residents and their family members.

●Assisting prospective residents, their family members and/or advisors in the decision-making process by understanding their needs and how we can meet and exceed their expectations.

●Prompting follow-ups with leads and inquiries via phone, email or other written communications.

●Creating, organizing and conducting one-on-one and group presentations to prospects and family members.

●Participating in lead luncheons, cultural events and informational sessions.

Job requirements:

●College graduate with experience in sales, public relations or sales psychology and five years’ experience working with seniors, sales/marketing or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

●Experience with lead tracking software, preferably REPS, and the ability to meet weekly, monthly and annual goals.

●Day travel for events and some evening hours and weekend events will be required.
