Safety Report – David Lans:
Incident reports need to be prepared for all injuries. We have received a few so far this year.
Field 4 and 5 signs are not getting put out every Saturday and Sunday. We need to get them put up.
Please keep the center gate between Field 4 and 5 closed because kids have run into the parking lot for balls. HOWEVER, the gate must not be locked because of the fire code.
Treasury Report – David Sagherian:
Our expenses overall this year were comparable with what we incurred last year. We met our budget for the last fiscal year in good shape. Our budget for National for fees this year is $65,000.
Referee Report:
We held Region Referee clinics in August. Most everyone passed!
We have lots of mentoring this year. Alfred has been getting many mentoring assignments filled. Aramazd was in the lead at the early mark!
Coach Report - Jeff Patterson:
We had our biggest year of clinics. There have been approximately 800 certifications.
We are 95% certified now, including Safe Haven and concussion training. Jonathon Beres has done a ton of Safe Haven clinics this year due to the new Safe Haven update requirement.
Sponsor Report – Ron Koch:
We have received sponsor money from 98 teams so far, approximately $33,000. There are quite a few teams that still need to send in their sponsorship money.
Picture Day – Kurt Weissmuller:
Picture Day is September 10-11, with U5-U14 on Saturday and U16-U19 on Sunday.
Every team gets one envelope with the individual sheets inside (previously each player received an envelope.)
RC/Registrar Report – Aldo Mascheroni:
VIP has 55 players this year. We have our first player in the program who is both hearing and speech impaired.
Uniform distribution went well on Saturday, but on Friday we needed more help. The truck came early and some people did not make it there.
We are at 3,523 registered players and still adding. U5 and U8 Boys are full with a waiting list. We need more coaches!
We have 297 teams and could have more, but were constrained by the number of coaches.
At the Area Meeting, Al Prado was nominated for Area Director. He is the only nomination so far, so he likely to be the new Area Director.
There was some discussion at the Area Meeting about forming a new Area United team, with a couple of players from each region. The proposed team would play in a club league. However, there does not seem to be much interest in this because regions would have to give up scarce fields for this new team, fields that are already being used by existing fall soccer teams.
Meeting adjourned at 7:59pm
