Sequence of work including control
Measures / Before Commencing with any work.
1.  Introduce yourself to manager on-site; seek WORK PERMITS from the airport maintenance department / centre management.
2.  Establish whereabouts of fire exits, fire extinguishers and fire meeting point.
Evaporator – indoor unit (4 off).
3.  Gain access to sales area evaporators utilizing engineers own step ladders.
4.  Isolate the power supply.
5.  Remove and vacuum off filter media.
6.  Clean unit internally using vacuum cleaner and coil cleaner.
7.  Clean fascia using rags.
8.  Replace filter media.
9.  Re-instate power.
10.  Record operation / performance using temperature probe.
Controls
11.  Check operation of all equipment. Record operation and defects.
Lighting
  1. Isolate defective circuits.
13.  Replace non-functioning tubes.
14.  Bag all rubbish.
15.  Dispose of correctly. In dedicated waste skip.
Signing off
16.  Record any Health and Safety issues, explain fully the contents of reports.
17.  Explain operation, defects and outstanding H & S issues to manager.
18.  Return all keys.
19.  Sign off site and Airport
Identify: Identification & avoidance of hazards. / ·  Items 3-10 - Falls from heights.
·  Item 5-8 - Electric shock.
·  Item 5-8, 11-14 - Particulate hazard.
·  Item 6 - CoSHH guidelines / assessments.
Control Measures.
Access to place of work. / ·  3-9 –Use barriers around work area whilst on sales floor, where human traffic dictates, works will also be carried out before store begins trading.
·  5-7– isolate equipment before carrying out any works.
·  5-7 – Utilise standard PPE – Dust mask, eye protection, gloves.
·  5 – read and understand CoSHH data sheets supplied.
·  5-7, 11-14 – Use PPE supplied.
Lighting. / Only applicable when working inside, when working above suspended ceilings ensure that enough tiles are removed to provide ample light.
Hot works. / None permitted within Airports
Is permit to work required : / No.

Access equipment to be used:

E.g.: Tower scaffolding, combination ladders, steps. / Combi type ladders to access cassette units.

Site supervision

Identify person in overall charge / Mr David Prout and Mr Chris Ridler will be responsible for site safety during the contract as outlined in Section 2.0 of our Company Policy Document.

Works Supervision

Identify the person directly responsible for works / See works request document.

Environmental controls

Identify :
Control of harmful emissions, e.g. noise, and dust.
Wind, rain, extremes of temperature.
Procedures for disposal of waste / ·  Noise – Not applicable
·  Dust –Vacuum will be utilised to remove surface dust as first method, wet rags will be used second, if nitrogen used will be outside of trading times.
·  Release of Nitrogen.
·  Any lamps are to be removed from site and disposed of correctly.

First aid and PPE requirements

Identify any additional first aid or PPE requirements, e.g. resuscitator, eye wash, gloves, respirator, hearing protection. / All PPE is issued and should be worn at all times.
